  1. Hardtop for my trailcraft trailblazer 5.7 has been completed.
  2. Hey Wayne, just roughly i spent about $1000-1300 just on aluminium.Bolts, fixtures, welding wire, gas and sika flex about $400-500.Powder coating, new clear, carpet under roof i estimate another $1500.
  3. Hey wayne,I'm a builder by trade and 1 of my mates is a mechanic and the other a concreter. The concreter has experience in welding same as the mechanic.Me myself, this is the first i have ever welded and it does'nt take long to get the hang of it.If you put your mind to it you can do anything, don't be scared to try anything. Most of the work is in designing everything and trying to vision it in your head. Cheers
  4. More updates from a days work today. All posts are welded and both support brackets are finished. We're nearly on the home stretch, now some grinding and sanding to get it ready for the powder coaters.Couple of noisy nights should do it. hahaha neighbours!!!!!!!
  5. Hey Jeff, New clears will be made once everything is finished which should be in about a month
  6. Update from a full days welding yesterday. Its all coming together slowly
  7. Hey mate, I have a 2007 5.7m trailcraft trailblazer which we a currently building a hardtop for.A lot of time has gone into desiging the structure and using the existing rocket launcher for shape and strength. We are going to have 3 poles from the dash and cutting the rocket launcher and moving it to the back. Its not finished yet might be done in a month. We are half way there.I've post some pics you can take a look at. Cheers and goodluck
  8. Went out about 4-5 weeks ago headed north from sydney, trolled all day for 1 fin about 7kg, as far as any success lately, weather lately has been bloody shit!
  9. Me too first time I've had hook ups that quick, right spot right time i guess
  10. Left rose bay at 6:30am.Dropped the line in only a few miles from the heads as we had plenty of time to reach our destination a few hours before tide.By 12pm we had 10 dollies ranging from 75cm to 100cm. As i began to set up the spread for marlin zzzzzzzzzzz the line i had just put in seconds ago went off (short corner).30 minutes later we had him at the boat. Then again as i was putting the line out within 5 minute zzzzzzzzzzz short corner again.1 hour later he was at the boat with the leader wrapped around its tail which made it hard for us to bring up.What a top day, water temp was 24 degress
  11. Have a close look at the first shot in the water its easy to spot and make out that it is a stripe
  12. we were about 20 miles out from sydney heads. Water temp was between 26.6 and 26.9. Weather was great, bit of rain at 7am a bit at 12pm and little more at 3pm and between all that a bit of sunshine what more could we ask for.
  13. headed out from rosebay at 600 am on sunday morning with beatiful weather hoping to hook up a billfish. Got to the spot at 7:30 and set up the spread. After a few hours and after heaps of tunas and dollies we hooked this striped marlin. Took us 40mins to bring him in.I called it for about 100kg
