I read somewhere that a trout fisher was using the insects under rocks, crushing them in his fingers and rubbing the nymph fly with the juice and catching fish when others couldn't. So being a believer of aniseed essence on lures and in burley I thought another method may work on freshwater fish so I purchased a fly trap and caught heaps of flies. I kept them in the fish freezer until I had about half a bucketfull and crushed and screened them, I have not tried them yet as the weather has not been great the only downside is the smell when crushing and screening. The fly powder you put in the trap is bad enough but when you add dead flies, boy is she bad. I thought if it does not work I could always tip some in some arseholes car who takes up a disabled car space illegally.

I use a deep diver, say 40' with lure about 2 mteres behind, at about 7 knots.

If your running windows get rid of avg and install microsoft security essentials.

I had the option of putting a 30HP 4 stroke on my boat, but for similar weight I put a Tohatsu 50HP 2 stroke, best decision I made, there is no way I would put a 40HP 4 stroke on the back as a lot of outboards had the same frame in the 40 to 50 range.

I grease my spindles when replacing rollers and from time to time I use spray grease with a tube on the end of the can, seem to last OK.

I bet the kids went crazy, good to see, I have fished eucumbene and jindy, the last time I was at eucumbene you could drive across the lake at the portal, get a map of the area that shown the fire trails you will find some good spots.

Just a bit of interest, the last time I fished the lake the boat ramp at the dam was a strip of concrete on the side of a hill and the concrete finished about 20 metres from the water.

You can fish the bidgee outside of Adaminaby or take the fire trails around Tantangara, Talbingo. Not sure of water releases on the river, check at snowy hydro site.

I replace the cylinders in my (4) jackets every year, no parts are required and I smear a little vaso (over the shell not on the nozzle) as they can rust very quickly.

Sorry, I should clarify that,get a battery load tester. It puts a load on the batteries and it will allow you to check the state of them, I check mine about twice a year, you should always have the batteries on a trickle charge.

You can use an etch primer and enamel paint, but probably not worth the effort, as snapper said, there are plenty around.

I keep aniseed soap in the boat, gets rid of petrol or other smells off hands which does't transfer to the bait.
