  1. Hi brunswick bar is great in a south swell and ok in a se swell anything from the east or north and you can be in trouble . I live in byron and i cross the bar alot but this bar is a nasty bar it has a very tight river mouth and a bommie on the nth seaction to keep you on your toes.Also plenty of surfers to get in the way. If you have access to the internet go to coastal watch and type in bruswick heads and have a look . If you get up early and watch it live you can see the locals going out . Low tide is big no no with any swell. Yes the macks will still be around when you come up in march plenty of cobia as well , some say its prime time in march. Ok guys doing some work on my haines and Im looking at putting a pod on my boat but i am a little lost as to what is best a glass pod or an aluminium pod for a glass boat.Will it affect its performance or can it damage the transom from the lack of flex from the aluminium pod. I have got plenty of quotes at the moment but i have no made up my mind yet so i have turned to the forum for help cheers guys
  3. Well done on the king and dolly how did your king cook up ? I got a 115CM OFF BRUNSWICK on Wednesday and it mushed up when i cooked it. What did you get your dolly on and how wide where you? well done again and it looks like we might be shut down this week. cheers john
  4. Boys Im stuck in Byron Bay for work and need to ge4t out of town for a fish, does anyone know of a good fishing charter off Gold coast? I would like to go jigging or plastics for snapper , kings etc please pm any info cheers for any info
  5. hi cobia must be around at the moment here is a cobia that went 69cm yesterday at 6.30 am plus 2 snapper to 63 cm all caught on plastics nth of syd harbour how good does the cobia taste much better then snapper?
  6. yes we found the sauries as well and the flying fish , we scored a yft nth east of browns fin was just 6kg so a little jelly bean also hooked a massive strippie tuna 9kg , did you hear about the boat that ran out of fuel out at browns? Took them till 8pm last night to get towed back to syd harbour last night. We also found bait on the shelf at 5pm getting smashed but the nth easter was blowing up. cheers john
  7. hi mate , i was out on my blue center console out at that fad . you waved us onto the bait on the bait grounds the day before. We ended up with 2 tagged fin, 1 tagged dolly and 3 tagged kings of that fad as well we made it to the shelf line when that sth wester started to blow. Well done on the placings
  8. way to go i got my 20kg on a soft plastic this time last year re fish of the mth oct. i know how you feel its the best feeling . how many hrs have you put in to hunting the bronze fish. congrats
  9. hi young gun I live at av as well ,wollstonecraft av I fish around the beachs for jews in summer and every now and then for salmon in winter have got good size fish in the gutters at nth av I own an orange troop carrier so if you ever see it come over and say hi , every now and then im looking for a decky to come out for a fish on my boat , so you never know i might contact you to come out for a snapper fish. Keep up the good work and i might see you in the mornings at av , your post got me keen for a fish of the beach again. cheers john
  10. hi guys need to take off the old rego stickers from my haines hunter as i got a call from the msb and was told i had to change the rego numbers cause they where the wrong ones , the old old owner of the boat has them on his new boat. But how do i get the old ones off without scratching the gelcoat? any suggestions? cheers john
  11. mate sounds like lots of fun, nannygai are the gun live bait for big yellow fin, so you where on the money with those baits. 1 is better then a thousand slimies from what the old guys down south say. good on you we are on the hunt this w/end for the fin.

  14. great report and a fantastic effort from the beach. I have seen kings in the waves while ive been out surfing. so good to hear it came of the beach . Good luck and great catch
