  1. I also use Norman Speed Clips and Fly Clips. No lost fish to date and I have total faith in both types of clip.

More recently I used Hawaiin Clips on a trip to Weipa. These worked very well on the bigger lures and fish.

I also use clips 'cos I hate tying knots.

  2. How do you make the picture bigger? Did you do it from the iPhone?

    Cheers Joe :1fishing1:

    G'day Joe

Go into your the settings for Tapatalk and you'll find "Image Upload".

    Change it to "full size".

Took me till the second upload of my pic before I sorted it out.

I'm still trying to fully understand the app. Some things seem to contradict themselves i.e. logging in and out without the password after the first time is a bit suss to me.

Would like the option to log in with password each time, not just tap Fishraider and I'm in????

    Hope that helps.

    cheers

edit: I don't think emoticons work either??? Emoticons work when I use safari though. Anyone know how to get the emoticons to work in Tapatalk? Editing a post isn't as easy as in safari either. This sentence is supposed to be a new paragraph but for some reason it starts at the finish of the previous (first) edit. Tapatalk also says that my post count is about 300 less than it should be!

  3. I would really like to get some heavy duty Gamakatsu jig head hooks at a reasonable price and stocked on the shelf of a tackle shop so I can pick and choose what I want when I want, would be great.

These are as rare as rockin' horse s**t when it comes to tackle shops stocking them.

Plenty of Mustads available though but just too weak in the 2/0 to 7/0 sizes.

I have plenty of moulds, just need some decent hooks in the large sizes of 1/4oz to 3/4oz.

I'm not asking for much............ :biggrin2:

  4. I hear on a lot of fishing shows nowadays where they are quoting DPI as saying that the fight against carp is a losing battle and that it makes no difference whether you toss 'em back or kill 'em. :1prop:

Not sure where they get their info from but this is from DPI website and I quote:

"Don’t return pest fish to the water – if you catch a pest fish, kill it humanely and dispose of it appropriately."

I don't think there's a fine in NSW for throwing them back in the water, anyone know if there is and where it is written?

    cheers

  5. Hate swimming

Im either ontop of the water in a boat fishing or under it snorkeling to see what the fish are doing :biggrin2:

We have to get Jorg out to show him what a real fish pulls like Greg :1yikes:

And I dont smoke will provide speculaas(dutch spiced cookies :yahoo: ) and yeah sometimes can catch fish :biggrin2:

He also has muesli bars. You'll get to have a muesli bar but he seems to guard the Speculaas. :biggrin2:

Don't let him use the pull start if you have an engine with one and don't lean forward to put something in the side console when he's starting the motor. I've never gobbed out so much flemmy blood in my whole life. Deadset probably attracted sharks from Sydney Harbour to the Upper Georges River.

Still got the unhealed nose bone, feck did that hurt or what!

Other than that, Andrew would make a good partner for fishing teams events.

BTW, 'bout time you bought a boat for us to do teams events in. :biggrin2:

  6. Uncle Garry used to work in the butchers at Cundletown I think,(may have been other side of town) it was when I was a boy,I was to young to remember uncle Wayne with greyhounds,he lives at Coffs harbour now,Garry works at the RSL on the front desk.

Yep, Garry worked and owned the butcher shop. It was opposite the paper shop, Dumeresq Island turn off.

I was in about 5th grade at Cundletown Primary, late 70s' I think.

That was after going to Croki Public and then Ghinni Ghinni Public but before going to Chatham High.

  7. Another good fishing day on the Georges.

Thanks Andrew and hopefully Santa brings you an electric start motor and/or a bigger boat, my nose is still f$#&%*g sore.

At least the bruising has gone. :074:

All the best to you all and good fishing over the holiday period and beyond.

    cheers

  8. Well done to you Cam, seems like you had a good time.

I've been lucky enough to fish with both Ian Miller and Scott Towner (along with many others in the ABT) and they, along with the many others, are really great ambassadors to the sport and very helpful and friendly as well.

    Great stuff.........

    cheers

  10. Iwannajewy and I are heading off to Taree on the 24th for a week. Main reason is to look for work, but hopefully there'll be lots of :1fishing1: too. And plenty of :fish_h4h: for dinner and maybe even some :action-smiley-031: Hopefully I'll get to christen my new rod and reel with a nice big :fish_h4h: If we're lucky, we might even get to go out in the new :1boat: Here's hoping for some nice weather and plenty of sunshine.

Have fun for me as well.

As for work in the Manning Valley, I've been trying to get back "home" for over 20 years now and still haven't found a good/decent full time job in the area yet.

My advise is don't be too picky (like me :biggrin2: ) and you will do just fine.

    All the best.

    cheers

  11. G'day all

    Thanks for the info.

For those interested, I rang The Horsley Park Gun Shop today and they sell the "Lee Production Pot IV" for $110.00 and the "Lee Pro 4 20" pot for $150.00.

None in stock as of today but they may be receiving stock of both models tomorrow (Friday 25th), if not, definately by mid to end of next week.

    cheers

  12. no worries hookey.

i went through the research thing on net also about a year ago and a mate who is an old bushie and shoots alot uses a lee one and raved about how good it was..

i figured it would be great for sinkers but couldnt be bothered modding one at the time...

then that great post came up with all the info needed to get it done.i still have enough from years ago so maybe when i get abit low i may get motivated to do it....

just be careful but sounds like youve done abit of leadwork before...

i think the best i could get the 20 outa the bloke was $130 so buying os is outa the question funily enough.

    cheers...steve.....

Yeah, will definately be modding one to suit my setup.

I'm actually a toolmaker and done plenty of moulding (lead, zinc, aly, plastics, rubber etc) and made countless moulds to suit, as well as presstools and other crap made from steel over the years.

Making jighead moulds and jigheads gives me a hobby and also something to make when it's quiet at work. :biggrin2:

Got plenty of unfinished projects as well. :wife:

    catch ya

    cheers...steve...

Ah shoot, did a search but obviously not properly. Sorry Raiders :1prop:

Thanks Steve, that's helped somewhat. I had a feeling the gun shop at Horsley Park might be the go.

Will give them a ring tomorrow and see what they have in stock.

Might go the Lee Pro 4 20 pot yet!!!

Gees there's not much info on melting pots on the net for Oz shopping websites or other stuff. :05:

    Have you made any yet?

Tom has calibrated my scales so we can get an accurate weight
