    Sharky, I'm not sure what sort of weight it has added to the boat but it is a fair bit heavier than what it was and i have probably lost a couple of knots worth of speed but that doesn't really concern me. The boat was quite heavy to start with as most of it is 3mm ally and in some place 4mm. If you are looking to put some decking in your tinnie and still throw the boat on the roof of your car have a look around the forums and see what other alternatives there are in decking materials. You could even make something up which is able to be taken out of the boat and folds up with the aid of some hinges or something. Good luck with your trip around Oz......I'm jealous. :(:biggrin2:

    Good luck to you if you deck out a simple tinnie. It's not a hard job and it keeps a person occupied and entertained not to mention the reward of knowing that you built it yourself.

    Just remember, "measure twice and cut once". :biggrin2:

    BTW, I have finished the front deck completely now so I will throw some pics up when I get a chance. It has decking from front to back now. :thumbup:

    A couple of weeks ago when I was throwin' plastics at a school of tailor I came up solid with a tern. :05:

    I didn't even know it was a bird till I got it to the boat for the fact that I was reeling it from the rear of the boat and it was out the front.

    I deadset played the thing like a fish and when I got sight of it I was devistated that it wasn't the fish I thought i was fighting. :074:

    I use stimulate spray with fleck for SP's and the cheapy Big Johns from BigW for enhancing fish baits.

    Do they work?

    I don't know because who's to know I wouldn't have caught that fish without it. :1prop:

    I guess when you catch a fish whilst using scents it gives you more confidence but other than that I don't know. :biggrin2:

    Actually I'm bloody shocked. Not for you knowing but after using hard bodied lures for most of the lure fishing in my life, it's only just clicked about how to put trebles on properly. I've never even given it a thought. :(

    I must have fluked it by always putting trebles on correctly or it's just another bit of technical crap that has crept in to the fine art of angling. :074:

    There's a bit of a science to Owner Stinger trebles, there's a right and wrong way to put them on and the sizing has to be right to get the best chance of a hook-up. If the trebles are upside down they won't hook-up as well and I've had them effect the action on SX40's.

    I have never bothered to even look at the trebles on my 40's and 48's to see what size they are.

    Am I right in saying that the 48's have two different sized trebles and the 40's are both the same.

    What size are on each and if I was to buy new trebles for them, what type, name number do I look for. :1prop:

    I've never stopped in at the Tarana pub but I might on my next visit just to check out the pics on the wall.

    The Donnybrook hotel at the Lake Lyell (Great Western H'Way) turn off has some good photos on the wall as well.

    Good stuff, is it actually leegal to camp down there i thought that there were rangers down there because it is waterboard land?

    You can camp just about anywhere just so long as it's not within the Warragamba exclusion zone. It's always good to check with NPWS.

    As for the water board land, I think you will find that you can wonder around and camp as most of my family members and rellies have done over the years. Get in touch with the Water Board and ask the question and if you do your homework properly you might be able to catch a ride down to the farm. :1naughty: Mind you, I'd rather catch a ride back.

    I've never bothered to camp there myself because my parents lived along Tablelands Road and had a comfy spare room and bed instead. :biggrin2:

    You can fish Kedumba which runs behind the farm and starts at a junction of the water from Leura Falls and Wentworth Falls. There is also the chance of getting a trout at the base of Wenty Falls, which my brother has done in the past and is accessable (I'm pretty sure) via the "Giant Stair Case".

    From memory, the water from Wentworth Falls lake runs over the falls.

    You can access the farm via the main gate which is down near QV but you aren't allowed to drive down. It's pushbike or one foot in front of the other.

    There are different stories doing the rounds as to what the water board are going to do with the old farm. One was to raise Warragamba and flood Kedumba but I believe it is now going to be given back to the "public" and regenerated. The land is no good for flooding because of one last remaining privately owned piece of land that the owners won't sell.

    Kedumba was originally bought from Cleary Bros by the water board after Cleary's wanted to subdivide the land through Wollondilly council. When the Water Board found out it was a case of "no way we will buy it off you".

    Anyway, good luck with your ventures and if anything, just check with the local authorities etc for more info.

    And you don't get down there to trout, at least get down in to some of the closer valleys and get yourself a feed of freshwater yabbies. They make a good feed. :thumbup:

    PS, I hope everything I've written is right, I'm only going off what I can remember from my past knowledge and experiences. :wacko:

    It's a great part of the world to explore so get out there and give it a go. :yahoo:
