A 5 minute drive takes you to Saltwater Lagoon , which has all of the above as well as a good beach to fish from, and where you can catch worms .
And drive (4X4) all the way to Diamond Beach as well!!!

Sorry I wasn't online till now but you found out what I would have told you........blue-green algae is thick up the back of the lake.
Fishing can be just as good in summer as it is in winter.
Early starts in the morning and late arvo/evenings.
During the day it's a case of fishing deep.

Hey Stewie and woman,
In past years gone by, I have found that a length of PVC pipe works wonders for doing #1's from the boat.
Certainly helps when it's a bit rough on the water and you don't have to concentrate as hard.
Just rinse it out after use.
Oh, and great report as well.

G'day Chris
It was a great day and after so many attempts I finally got my first legal Kingy.
After we chased the tailor we headed over for some whiting and the whiting were as thick as thieves and it was a case of "throw out the line and you're on". The good thing was that there were no reddies amongst them either.

Frederickton, known locally as “Fredo”, just a couple of k's north of Kempsey also famous for its award-winning pie shop which is on the highway.
They have approximately 148 varieties of pies.
I can personally reccomend them..........

Yeah yeah guys rub it in I cant find one anywhere
I know someone who might know.
I'll get back to you when I find out but in the mean time just push all your tackle around in a wheelbarrow.

Great thread changa.
Some valuable info for anyone heading up to SWR.
BTW, don't forget to stop in at Freddo and pick up a feed of pies.

G'day Chemfish
Plenty of yakkas around.
We filled up with a heap from the bait ground along with some slimies.

Persaverance (sp) paid off Motty, good on 'ya's for getting out there on Saturday.
Me and the boys pulled the pin on Friday night but in hindsight we should have at least given it a go.
Oh well, there's always this Saturday.

PRAWN fishing has been suspended in Sydney Harbour because of toxic dioxin levels found in the shellfish.
Fish are not believed to have been affected but will be tested as a precaution.
If the prawns are affected and the fish eat the prawns, wouldn't that mean the fish would be affected as well?
Interested to see the outcome of this one.

A mate of mine works in the canberra office told me of this decision 3weeks ago.
Russ
G'day Russ
Did your mate give you a reason for the decision to put a stop to prawning in the Parra?
I heard it on Hi-Tide this morning and then the different scenarios started up like, "if the prawns are contaminated the fish that eat the prawns would be also. Which would mean a complete closure of fishing in the mid-upper Parra."
It will be interesting to hear the real story.

My favourite outfit would be the one that has caught most of my fish from boat in the salt.
A 1.67m 4-8kg Butterworth rod matched with a Shimano Biomaster 4010 reel which is currently loaded up with 15lb Maxima Perfexion.![:1fishing1:](//www.fishraider.com.au/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
