Hit the water at 6am this morning at rosebay.water looked great and was ready for high tide.Anchored the boat and we thew out the rods didnt take long before we started to get bites and then we were on to a couple of little throw back bup ream but at least we had caught something.then all of a sudden the young blokes rod started bouncing but to his angish it was only an eel.down gos the net and back in the water goes the rod.then all off a sudden hes rod bounces again.waiting for him to bring it back then we seen this 78cm flatty weighing 3 1/2 kilos on the hook.slowly does it into the net then yes hi 5s all round.next the father inlaws rod goes and its got some weight but no fight got it up bloody stingray cut the line.1/2 hour gone bye and bang and the sound of drag yes i"m on a little fight and after a few runs and a bit of trouble netting the next flathead it was 75cm and weighed in the same.all were caught on mullet we packed up and left after that as the southerly had justed started and we had enough fish for dinner.all in all very worth wild for a couple of hours.
