  1. yeh ill be hitting up pittwater as well going to get on the cans tonight so i dont no what time ill go tomorrow but im sure ill get out there i just dropped a small fortune on some new lures and vibes so will be doing some trolling around palme headland maybe hit up some reefs then later in the day head down juno point and test out these new vibes around some oyster leases and give the flats a good run in hope of some flattys for the table enjoy your weekend what ever you get up too
  2. i have all my fish caught on the white one 2nd from the top i also have the red one but have no fish to date on it cant wait for the water to warm up i think there gonna go great on the kings when there in bigger numbers
  3. depends how lazy u r the ideal way to use them is to drop them to the bottom let them rest for a few seconds then slowly wind it up about 10m off the bottom if you get no hits drop it back down and repeat if you get bites dont strike just keep slowly winding it in the fish will hook itself but if your lazy or you have a few rods out just drop the jig down but it about 2-3 meters off the bottom and stick it in your rod holder and just wait for your rod to buckle or just check your sounder and drop the jigg into the strike zone and leave it there these jiggs are great only problem is that the skirts are easily damaged and jackets love them they are replaceable at about $4 a set it can get pretty pricey pretty quickly i only use them now when im 99.9% certain there are not jackets around so yeh i havnt used them since i got these last kings bring on summmer
  4. i think i speak for all fisherman who fish then pittwater when i say thanks for taking some of the jackets your welcome back any time and next time bring some more mates with you so you can take even more of the jackets nice photos too the water looks perfect
  5. Santa just dropped me off some early Christmas presents rod is the SP721L 7'2” 2-5kg and the reel is a Shimano Symetre 2500FJ spooled with 10lb suffix braid with a couple of viking cranks that Hodge suggested the rod feels great in the hand and is really light cant wait to test her out tonight and no i don't plan on using the squid jig with this reel thats for my big king rod thanks again Hodgey for the advice
  6. little late with the post picked up some lucanus jigs last week and give them a test on sunday we hit spot xon the pittwater put some burley down within about 15min of jigging with a white lucanus this little guy fell victim gave a few good runs b4 being landed after a few snaps he was thrown back i was happy first king on a lucanus we caught a few more around this size b4 the jackets came in jackets just love the skirts on these jigs and b4 u no it there gone and at $3-4 a replacement u dont want to be loosing too many so at first sign of the jackets we called it a day for the lucanus these jigs are supposed to be used in deep water and are ideal for winter we where fishing in only about 20-25 mtrs of water and they where working well there supposed to be just as good on snapper have yet to catch one tho

  12. heres a shot of the fish finder on the spot we where fishing on the bait balls were yakkas with a avg size of around 25cm we did a few drifts over the spot but could only bring up sharks no other fish around atleast we got a good new bait spot

  14. tried some new marks outside the heads around east reef found some awsome bait grounds pulling in yakkas around 30cm every bait we throw out caught heaps of sharks biggest one being around 1mtr didnt land any table fish just lots of reef fish mate thought it was a good idea to have a flick using his light sp rod few min later hes onto a shark and he snaps his rod in 2 funny to watch mate wasnt too happy all n all good day on the water
  15. ahhh very good idea i always worry when i pull the boat up on shore that its gonna rip off cheers
  16. yeh its a very cheap and simple process you dont even have to be driving very fast for it to pump water into your tank i turn my bilge off when driving then just turn it back on when the boat is at rest works a treat
  17. Very easy to use i have sent you a PM
  18. my boat is only small 4.5m and i have a garmin 420s in it works great i understand what breamhntr is talkin about with the dual screen in a perfect world i too would have a separate sounder and gps but sadly im not made of money the 420s is a great little unit it does every thing i need it to and when you add the g2 bluecharts maps its a very handy tool i got mine for under $500 shipped great little unit
  19. yep thats what ive done the bilge clips into the blue thing via 2 clips on the side so the blue thing remains bolted to the water scoop and the bilge is removable its not going to go any where but if your worried that the bilge might fall off just get some cable ties and tie it down
  20. sounds like u have the same as mine i had to drill the 3 holes in the little blue cap 2 for bolts to connect it to the water scoop then i had to drill the big hole in the center for the water to shoot up into the bilge pump heres a photo of mine on the boat
  21. i wonder how one of these would go on the downrigger bound to pull up something massive ha
