  1. Hi Jed, Sorry for the bad outings but at least you've tried. It is very unusual that you didn't get any "downs", normally that place produce fish. As matter of fact I was there the previous day, three of us targeting blackies, one caught 3 the other guy had one and I had three downs and one fish, I still have to work on my hooking rate. But yeah persevere with it, I can assure you there are blackies there and another thing most of the fish I caught is near the sailing club, the wall near the BBQ area. Cheers, Littledinghy
  2. Hi Jed, I have been fishing that place for years and have been good to me, couldn't remember not getting one or two blackie there. I fish for blackfish there around March till the last week of July. The good thing about the place is you can take your family and have a barbeque and fish at the same time. What can you ask for? Try it Jed, you will not be disappointed, any wall there will produce fish as long there is some drift and I find it productive on the run out. Cheers, Littledinghy
  3. Gee, Simmo, you have the potential to be a blackie guru. Using a 6 ft rod on the first outing and two fish, incredible. Sometimes it took me hours to get a down and I am fishing almost everyweek. I must find the spot you fished. Good onya mate, believe me, you are hooked now. Cheers, Littledinghy
  4. Hi Beachangler, I usually go to Clarkes Point, the place hasn't disappointed me yet this season. There's also an area on the eastern side of Greenich sailing club. And yes, at Longnose Point at Birchgrove. Around Gladesville wharf, so many places to try for blackfish mate, weeds is the hardest one to find. Good luck, man. Littledinghy
  5. Thanks for reading the post Musty, I can understand your feeling, we really can't help those people with attitude like that but we can encourage others to do the right thing, please don't give up Musty, what we are doing might be just a drop in the ocean but the ocean will be less if we miss that drop. 6. Hi Fellow Raiders, Attached is the reply I got from Port Kembla Port Corp, I think the guy is right, I think we should start encouraging our fellow fishos to do the right thing. I, for a start will encourage the people I go fishing with. Please do the same thing. We gotta start somewhere. And this is not only at a certain place, it has to apply to every fishing places we go. Cheers, Littledinghy (Pedro) P.S...Thanks Donna for letting me post this reply, much appreciated. Hi Pedro, I can understand your frustration, as I am constantly noticing rubbish left by irresponsible people in many places around the harbour. In the case of the Northern Break wall, we have a large bin in place, just to the west of the pedestrian access gate, which is not locked & can be used by Fisho’s etc. The problem is encouraging people to take the time to put their rubbish in the bin. Maybe a kind word to your fellow Fisho’s might help. 7. I am no different from everyone who watch Adventure Bound religiously, I found Neil as the best fishing presenter in Australia, very likable guy who just go on with the business of catching fish and teaching everyone how to do it. I will be missing him a lot. Condolences to the family and Shane and Andrew. Littledinghy
  8. Thanks for the concern guys, the main reason why I requested for the bin there is that Concern Fishos like us would be able to pick up some crap (not all) left by those inconsiderate people and chuck it in the bin instead of taking it home, like what I did the last time I was there. Anyway, I still haven't written a request to show to the Admin, sorry. I have to ask the missus to write it for me, because, you know English is not my first language and have difficulty expressing myself. But as soon as it is done I will send it to the Admin and you guys can decide whether I could use the Raiders name. Littledinghy
  9. Hi Raiders, Just to update you on our request for rubbish bin at Port Kembla wall, got a call from Woollongong Council and was informed that the area is out of their jurisdiction, according to them it is the Port Authority's responsibilty. Would it be alright with you guys if I send them a request on behalf of Raiders, I am thinking if I do it on behalf of myself, it may not weigh much. What do you think, guys? Littledinghy, PS: If we are not succesful, I will just have to bring bigger bags everytime I go there.
  10. Hi Mick, Top fishes there mate, you must have a ball catching those jewies, am jealous. I am going there in June, can you give me some info, I am thinking of of river, billabong and bluewater fishing and maybe drive to shady camp. Can I fish there on my own, at shady camp, I mean? or I have to have a guide? Also, how is the swell on bluewater? I get sick sometimes. Living up to your name, huh, catching those mulloway, great, good onya man. Littledinghy
  11. Thanks Hodgey, I submitted the request, I wonder how they would react on a non-resident request, because I live in Toongabbie, maybe I should have requested on behalf of all fishos. Anyway, I will let you know guys the outcome. Thanks again Hodgey. Littledinghy
  12. Hi Raiders, I went fishing last weekend at Northern side of Port Kembla wall ( thanks to Lala for the info) and had a ball catching baitfish (slimies). I was beautiful day in a very nice fishing spot, however, I notice that rubbish are all over the place left behind by inconsiderate fishos, I end up taking bagful of rubbish with me, mind you I can only picked up those around me. I also notice that there's no rubbish bin in that place not a single one but there's no reason why people cannot take their own rubbish home with them. I won't be surprised if the Port Kembla Coal Company closes the place again because of it. It will be a pity, it is such a nice place. Would it be to much if we make a request to the local council to put a couple of rubbish bins in the area, that might help fishos to clean up. If there is anyone here who can put me to the right council, I wouldn't mind writing short note of request. Cheers, Littledinghy
  13. Thanks for the info LALA, I might catch up with you there someday. Littledinghy
  14. Hi Lala, Nice catch there mate, did'nt realised the northside breakwall is open, last time I went there I end up at the southern side. Is it really open or you just walk from the outside street? Just asking, I want to try again the spot. Thanks. Littledinghy
  15. Hi A.dawg, That was to bleed them so it taste nice when you eat them. And the cut is Roberta's signature cut. I am pretty sure that Roberta started that. And those fish looks really healthy, well done.... Littledinghy
  16. A good motivation to walk Kookai, have a flick, get some fish and go home. Good onya, Jeff. Littledinghy
  17. That's a nice bream and whiting there Jeff, how big are they? Must try that spot again...one of this day.... Littledinghy
  18. I'll be heading the Harbour to get a crack at blackfish and hopefully surgeons.
  19. Hi Raiders, I'll be at Nelson Bay on the first week of December, will be fishing mainly landbased, just wondering if anyone can point me to some productive spot. I've been there a year ago and didn't do much, is that breakwall there have blackfish? By the way, I will be taking gear that will cover all manners of fishing except boat;( rock and beach fishing gear, blackfishing, soft plastic and hard bodies). Any help will be appreciated. Thank you Raiders.. Little dinghy
  20. Thanks for that PeterD, I will try it next time I am around that area.
  21. Hi PeterD, I have been hearing a lot about Pulpit Point and been trying to get there but I couldn't find any spot to park my car and it looks like there is no access to the point. Would you be kind enough to point us to the right direction? Sorry Alex to snap your thread but I"ve been waiting for long time for someone who knew the area and I think PeterD is the man. Thanks Peter in advance. LD
  22. Top catch there Luderick59, must have been an awesome session. I noticed you have a Roberta signature cut, good on ya man.... Scout
  23. Sorry about the disappointment Chris, but really what you're lacking in there is "luck" and I think if you give up now that luck will not come. And I also think that one fish shouldn't discourage you, because other fish can give as much enjoyment as your beloved jewfish. Littledinghy
  24. Thanks Raiders for the replies, some nice suggestions there, I think I will leans towards lead sheets, thanks again. LD/Scout
  25. Hi Raiders, I have been fishing for blackies for awhile now, thanks to raiders who are giving good advice, and I am loving it, I like the thrill of landing the fish with very light line, they really fight hard. Anyway, I have another question, what do you do with the used split shots? I used about 4 or 5 of them for every rig and over time I accumulated a fair amount, sometimes I do reopen them but I find it very hard to do because they're so tiny. so, Raiders, any ideas? Thanks, Scout
