  1. Save your dollars mate, take it to Huey, he is the pro. Pedro (littledinghy)
  2. Hi Dicko, Seems to me that's a job for the expert, I had a similar situation not long ago, I thought I could fix the problem, after spending three days trying to fix it I gave up. I rang the expert , Huey, and bingo he fixed it in no time. And I was expecting a huge bill for it but no, as if I am a long lost friend, giving me all the discount he can give. My advise is take it to Huett Marine, they are the expert. Littledinghy
  3. Sorry for the run of bad luck, man, but think about the positive, I don't think it is going to get any worse than that, so everything will better from now on. Cheers, Littledinghy
  4. What's on your mind?

  5. Totally agree with Slinky, I am Slinky converted circle hook user and couldn't be happier with the result, I had my PB Bream (41cm) on circle hooks caught last week. By the way Slinky, I kept using my normal uni knot and hasn't failed me yet. Thanks. Littledinghy
  6. I'm in, Clarkes Point has plenty of parking and lots of wall to fish. Littledinghy
  7. I've caught a lot of bonitos on squid head skirt but I only use white, other colour seems not to work where I fish. And also I cut the skirt to shorten it to about two and a half inch. Being landbased I rig my lure with two meter trace behind a float acting as a teaser and wind the reel as fast as I can. It works a treat. On a boat, maybe you don't need a "teaser" because it will be difficult to cast that sort of rig with a seven foot rod.
  8. Welcome to the site mickygee, I assure you, you will enjoy and learn a lot from the site. Raiders are top mobs. Littledinghy
  9. There's nothing like a hero by your side all the time Donna, good onya Swordie. Have a mighty good rest Mrsswordie. Littledinghy
  10. Pardon my ignorance Mrsswordie, I didn't know about those awards, so I'm Bream, thanks. Littledinghy
  11. Hi Raiders, Just want to clear something, all along I thought Mahi Mahi is another name for Dolphin fish, but seeing Swordfisherman's avatar, a picture of marlin or some billfish with a Mahi Mahi captioned on it got me thinking my thought is wrong. Can someone clarify this for me. Thanks, Littledinghy
  12. Mine is Stacer 400 with 40HP Evinrude at the back. Hi Berleyguts, how come your rig looks newer than mine, must be looking after it with TLC. Littledinghy
  13. Hi Everyone, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.. Enjoy your Christmas break.... And be CAREFUL out there.. happy fishing... Littledinghy
  14. Hi Paul, Great report mate, very different from the last session you have. I still remember last Sunday we are trying to get some yakkas, you and your little float, interesting. I might see you there again sometime during x-mas break. Cheers, Littledinghy
  15. Hi Paul, I was there that morning in Balmoral, so you are the one with small float catching the yakkas, sorry about the aerator, I know the feeling, it happen to me once, after spending so much effort catching livies ended up with dead bait. I was going to ask where are you going to use those livies, I should have, and should have followed you at the Spit because I couldn't find a space in that wharf that morning. Cheers, Littledinghy
  16. Hi Sam, So you are a Fishraider, I was going to ask if anyone is a Fishraider that Sunday morning. I was there, I was watching you reeling in that kingy, I really thought that is already gone because he is already on it's side but unfortunately the line touches the pylon, it's easily on 80's cm mark, but anyway you got the samson fish, congrats on that. Those small squids that your friend catching really work a treat. I didn't have much luck myself but enjoyed the morning, I was the skinny guy with the mo you're talking to in the early morning, hope to see again there sometime. Cheers, Littledinghy
  17. Hi Two Blues, You are right about this site, I've learned more in the last two years from this site than the 25 years I've been fishing. This site is all about unselfishness, everyone shares infos, everyone takes responsibility and everyone do the right thing. I think we can call ourselves the educated bunch when it comes to fishing. Cheers, Littledinghy
  18. Hi Raiders, Just to let you what's happening around Balmain and sorrounds. After reading MannyK report around Cockatoo Island, I decided to have a go, so we launched at putney in the early morning of Saturday with my friend Nathan. I told him, we will try at the back of Goat Island first to pick up the run-in, dropped the pick and started berleying with left over pillies not long after had the a double hooked up, undersized pinkies, let them go and said to myself this is promising,. I was right, after 10 -15 minutes we started pulling legal sized pinkies and bream, flathead, trevs. Around eleven, we already have enough for dinner, I told my friend, we might as well try Cockatoo Island which is our original destination, there you go, grab a couple more, a nice trev and another pinkie. 11:30 we started for the ramp. To sum it all, the Harbour is full of fish at the moment. So guys, we are in for a good summer. Cheers, Littledinghy
  19. What a beauty, I'm sure your friend is already addicted but I bet he is longing for that magic meter jewie. Not that I'm complaining about 96cm, it's a whopper of a fish, I couldn't even get close to 70. I'm sure he is going to catch it, maybe he already did, did he Diesel?. Beautiful, Diesel... Littlednghy.
  20. Here's another one for you, a 4000 stradic match with a 7-10 kg 7' rod. 20 lb braid and 30 flouro leader is ample enough for kingfish in the harbour. You don't have to muscle the fish, use the drag, that's what's it is for, "play". Otherwise, using too big string loses the sports in it. Looking forward to your first kingy report. Littledinghy
  21. Hi Fisherman 1994, Try off the rocks at the bottom of Barry Park at Fingal Bay, it was very productive for me the last time I was there. I am heading there next month, it'll be nice if you can report back if it is still firing. Got some kingies, and tailor there and got busted by groper (i think). Good luck, mate, and looking forward to your report. Cheers, Littledinghy
  22. Hi Locodave, If you meant the split conduit, electrical shop will have it. Try Salmon Bros, or John Turks. Cheers, Littledinghy
  23. That's mighty "bangus" we call it back home. It taste nice too but boney. Just ask Bangus, he knows everything about it. Well done Greg. Didn't know you can catch it in Darwin, I was there three weeks ago. Littledinghy
  24. Hi Clem, I would suggest Clarkes Point, it's a nice parks with BBQ and plenty of room to play while wetting the line. It's not very far from you about half hor drive. Heaps of parking too. Littledinghy
  25. Hi Homeside, Just curious, are you landbased? if not, is the place can be fished from land? Been using that ramp there frequently but never tried blackfishing. I am thinking since it's too cold to launch the boat I would try landbased, will appreciate very much if you could give some info. Thanks, Littledinghy
