  1. sweet as b4ndit nothing beats an arvo rock fish, specially if u can get tasty buggers like those big snappers u got. where bouts were you, north or south?
  2. g day fellow raiders had the day of work today so i decided to go for an early morning rock fish. I fish between botany and bondi just on 5am the sun was starting to come across the horizon and the wind was minimal, it was a beaut morning. ive had a fair bit of spare cash lately so i decided to invest in a stella 3000 and a new 9ft tiralejo for a bit of spining fun. anyway today was the first day ive used it. got to the ledge and setup my new baby and started spinning, after about 20 minutes, bang something smashed my 40gm raider, it took of like a rocket down deep. any way i tightened up the drag and fought the girl down deep for a few tense minutes, finally she surfaced and it was a nice kingy. landed her and measured her she went to 62cms a quick snap and she was back in the drink. after that not much else happened for me, a few other people there were getting come nice blackies. it was awesome fun of the light gear, well worth the small fortune it cost me f1sh3rm4n
  3. hey fellas im heading up to swr in a few weeks time for a week of fishing, thinking of sending out a few livies of the jail n maybe hat head. just wondering if u can catch ne yakkas or slimes up there LAND BASED and if so where bouts cheers f1sh3rm4n
  4. cant remember the price, we hired the whole boat for four of us dont think it wouldve been too expensive at the most 200 bucks each. u can hagle with the prices thats what we did
  5. hey mate i went to phuket last year and picked a charter that went trolling all day the brochure had a picture of a sailfish on it, i thought sweet im going to catch a sail fish. i was wrong. spent the whole day trolling only to catch small shit tuna, and the charter boat operators dont speak any english so u cant tell them to do something else, if i had my chance again i would've picked reef fishing instead
  6. Jiminy jillickers hahaha what can I say fishing it's not a hoby, it's a way of life. It's my religion. All my tackle is funded by donations to my church.
  7. cheers fellas, yeh its the best feeling when the tell tale signs of a hit occurs (the tight pull on the line), definately my favourite type of fishing. bandit my outfit consits of a tiralejo 11ft castign rod matched with a trinidad 20 run with 30 lb braid, caught the salmon on 85gm raiders. its a solid outfit i use it to spin tuna of the bricks on the mid north coast. handles them with ease
  8. yeh they put up a great stink, quite a few acrobatics aswell which is always awesome to see. yeh ive herd they are not that great on the palate, never actually eaten them before, bringing them to a bbq next weekend and the host is quite the accomplished chef so it will be interesting to see what she whips up
  9. headed out to a not so secret spot on the coast for an arvo spin with a few mates, got there and it was rough as guts, the incoming tide and the 15knot easterly winds made it quite hairy and it was packed with 3 other fishos, i say packed cos its a tiny ledge, and anyway not even 10 minutes into the session and im on to a nice salmon, within the next 5 minutes im onto my second. about half an hour later im onto my third and its an absolute beast of a salmon, quick tussle and its onto land. all arvo we had out lures chased buy big fish, my mate droped 2 big ones just at the front of the ledge, and the guy next to use landed a nice rat kingy not too sure about the size didnt measure them but id say the big one was around the 70cm mark and 3 to 4 kgs

  15. your going to have to tell me how you do it, u seem to catch quite a few fish of the rocks. whats the secret. is there some sort of way to retrieve your lure, do u go fast or slow? and also i see you have kept the salmon, ive always been under the impression that the humble aussie salmon is a bit ordinary on the pallet. how do u prepare and cock the humble salmon, and how does it turn out
