  1. I heard that they were putting artificial reefs in the Bay made of concrete. Is this true? And if so where are they going?
  2. Nice pics. They always catch em on the green boat
  3. When I got outside the heads this morning a trawler was smashing up all the fish in front of the gun mounts outside Marobra. No wonder there are no fish
  4. G'day Timmy. What sort of TV was it? Thats incredible. LOL Any frostys on the boat mate???
  5. Gooday Garry. Uncertainty is the one of the biggest issues. From the kids point of view the most important thing is that you are always there when you are supposed to be. Being happy and enjoying your time with them is priceless. I found that being seperated made me spend quality time that I never spent when I was actually married. It seems crazy but I had beter quality 1 on 1 time after the sepaeration. Now my daughter is 18. She still visits me all the time. I still see her a couple of days a week which is more than I seen her with visiting rights. You will be ok and the kids will love you for it. Keep fishing. Cheers Dave
  6. ENTHUSIASM Great story. Congrats
  7. I am not home long. Just enough to wash out the boat and gear. Had a reasonable day. Only boated 2 leather jackets. 1 Snapper. 3 pigs. 3 lorwongs and some wrasse. Trolled a few lures and dropped 1 fish down deep and out a few km's wide. No idea what though. I took some pics should I post here or somewhere else. I don't want to hijack Searunners post.
  8. My last 2 trips I have nailed close to 100 of them including what my crew cought. We only got a few Flatties and Morwong, and some others too. That was at the Peak and off Maroubra. Gonna try down south tomorrow at Bellambi. Thanks for the report.
  9. It makes a tough day easier when you are hooking up. Great photo of a real good catch.
  10. This is fantastic thing that you have going on here. This is not just a site but it's community. When I read the posts here everyone is encouraging. It's the best fishing site I have ever been to.
  11. Great story. I have had more than a few incidents over the years. Forgot to take the muffs once. Alarm went off and I had to wait an hour for the motor to cool down. You'll get. I am still learning and I think that most people never stop learning.
  12. I fished it this week and lastweek. Off Maroubra at the rockwall where the old guns were mounted once apon a time. Last week I managed to get throught the jackets and landed 6 flatties. This week I couldn't get past the things and only brought home more leatheries At the Peak though I got some Morwongs but mainly I got more jackets. Just bigger ones. Lost a bit of lead too.
  13. I am planning on heading outside. Last week I got 6 flatties, 1 morwong, 1 red sea perch. a nanygai and 52 leatherjackets. I lost lots of lead. I went and got some wire traces yesterday. The seas look tobe quite favourable. I only hope theres not too much rain.
  14. Thats a great idea Roberta. It was taken Milperra I beleive they had a wheel clamp but I ma unaware of the brand. I am not really sure if the coupling had a lock. I will try to get more info tomorrow. This is a great site and in the off chance that someone here may see something or might be able to prevent another one from being stolen I thought I would post.
  15. My Neighbour had their boat stolen yesterday. They had taken precautions but these guys are profesional thieves. Anyway here is some info. Just incase you spot it. It's a 2008 Bayliner 192 Discovery Cuddy Cabin. Has a full length swim platform (most only have a half size) Boat Registration Number is IDO333N Trailer rego is U78976.
  16. Great catch mate. Where abouts in the Bay were you.
  17. I have had the problem and charter boats really feel it. If you go to browns looking for Blue eye and bag out on Gemfish early then it seems rediculous to be throwing away a great eating fish that will not survive. The rules have to change. The fishing license laws need to be flexible to allow us to keep fish that will die when pulled out of a depth that will not allow a fish to return to the bottom.
  18. Hi people. I have been reading your posts for a while now and have found the site very informative. I have my own boat and am taking it to Forster this winter. I was wondering if anybody has any experience on Forster NSW out there. I will be taking the family in the lakes and estuaries but I will also be heading offshore without the kids and am hoping to get some good marks. Any info will be appreciated.
  19. I fished Maroubra last week and mainly al;l LJ's. Got a few flattys though. Also a 6 barb jacket.
