Interesting to see on the news footage this afternoon on nine network (with local guide stretched on his rails getting stuck into serious kings in background ) that someone caught and killed a 2-3m bull shark last night at Clifton and a swimmer hauled it's guts back to the sands this morning where a film crew was waiting.....
The media are having a ball with this.
Cheers,
Spizza

Here's a link to a fishing story I recently found in the Macleay Argus (Kempsey): http://kempsey.yourguide.com.au/news/local...ch/1422950.aspx
The article calls the fish a Perch but that's a common name for the Australian Bass up there.
I'm not sure if this incident happened above or below the rapids but Bull Sharks have been seen many times in freshwater above the rapids on the Macleay River.

Mackerel Tuna:
Most but not all have one to nine, and sometimes even more, small black spots or blotches between the pelvic fin and the pectoral fin. They can also be distinguished from the Frigate Mackerel by the lack of space between the two dorsal fins, the Mackerel Tunas first dorsal fin extends nearly all the way to the second dorsal fin where as the Frigate Mackerel's first dorsal fin is distinctly separate from the second dorsal fin.
