  11. It is strange, maybe they didn't have acces to any samples to test. See the recommendations about eating Mullet from the Harbour, it's the fish that should be least eaten. Mulloway like to eat Mullet. A Mulloway that's eaten a lot of Mullet over the years would have to dioxin / toxins in it's body.
  12. The harbour where they are being caught is polluted too. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/info/sydney-closure "No fish or crustaceans caught west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge should be eaten. You should release your catch." There's probably a lot around because there's not many people eating them.
  13. Eel Goby: http://australianmuseum.net.au/Eel-Goby-Taenioides-mordax-or-Taenioides-purpurascens/ Below is a photo of a different species of Eel Goby but you can see similarities, the photo is of a Bulldog Eel Goby (Taenioides esquivel). http://www.fishbase.gr/images/HiRes_Pics/hr_Taesq_u0.jpg

  21. No, but I'd love to see someone try and put a hook through a Pike Eel's back and use it for live bait. The Long Finned Pike is the one used for live bait not the Pike Eel. Long Finned Pike: http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fishfacts/fish/dlewini.htm

    No Clues!

Did you mean the Spiky Trumpeter instead of Striped Trumpeter? The Largescale Grunter (Terapon theraps) has the same genus as the Spikey Trumpeter/Crescent Perch (Terapon jarbua) but they are two different species. The Crescent Perch/Crescent Grunter/Spiky Trumpeter looks like it could be a good match too: http://www.austmus.gov.au/fishes/fishfacts/fish/tjarbua.htm
  24. Commonly called a Grinner but also called a Painted Lizardfish, a Painted Grinner and a Snakefish.
