  1. .This is pretty obvious but just remember to take the bung out and tilt the trailer up at the front so water runs out otherwise you will end up with a boat full of water
  2. Mate I have a quintrex renegade with 60hp yamaha and i tow my kids (10,7 and 6) on a tube with it all the time. I just attach a bridle to the grab handles on the back to clear the outboard then attach the tow line to the bridle. Works fine. The load a tube puts on the boat is far less than what a skier does and if your only towing kids around they weigh 3/5ths of bugger all.
  3. Hey Roylo, I currently have a 4.65m plate boat approx 800kgs for the boat, motor, fuel and 2 guys. I am running a 4 stroke high thrust 60hp Yamaha and I am getting 26 knots wide open out of it, not sure what the km/h conversion is. Obviously different props could increase or decrease this top end but that is at 5800 rpm and it still gets up on the plane quite quickly. It's not exactly what your looking at but may give you an idea of what you may be able to expect.
  4. I gotta get out there and get me some action before they head off for the winter.
  5. what a great day out, well done. Can't wait to get out on the water again soon.
  6. Great mixed bag there. Well done
  7. I bet he was straight off for a clean pair of jocks after that close encounter
  8. That's a great setup you got yourself there.
  9. Great photos there mate. How did you go at Browns?
  10. JewHunter is spot on they taste better the bigger they are.
  11. OMG that is one hell of a fish
  12. Sensational fish. that would definately get the blood pumping
  13. fishgut is spot on they are great fertiliser for the vegie garden but like has been said make sure they are buried deep enough otherwise they stink and the local cats tend to start digging in your garden.
  14. Great haul there. Any chance of a hint of the general area they were caught. Have never squidded before and am looking to give it a go in the next few weeks but not sure where to go for them.
  15. Sounds like my last few efforts on the dollies. I'd also be interested if anyone has any info on fishing in Bali as I will be heading over there later in the year myself.
  16. This ramp is only useable in small swell less than 1 metre as it is an open ocean ramp. I wouldn't recommend using it unless you have a 4wd. I also wouldn't recommend using this ramp unless you are experienced in launching from an open ocean ramp and are familiar with the area. Launching your boat at Bellambi would be a far safer and predicatable option in all conditions and is only approx 15-20 minutes boat ride south.
  17. The Port Hacking Fad location is 34° 07.658 s 151° 23.254 e distance from Port Hacking is 21 km Coordinates are in Map datum WGS84 Good Luck
  18. Thanks guys for your help. Went out early on monday and gave it a shot and had no luck at all. There were quite a few small dollies out there but not one was interested in anything we threw at them. Tried everything livies, weighted livies, divers, plastics, even strip baits. They would follow all the baits and lures all the way back to the boat then just swim away (very frustrating) so after about an hour wind got up and we headed back in and decided to troll around the bombee at Jibbon for kings (still nothing) so headed back for the ramp and decided to stop in the hacking for a bit of a last ditch effort to at least boat something. Finally my mate pulled in a 61cm flathead on peeled prawn so off we went back to the ramp. All in all still better than working but a couple of dollies would have been nice, maybe next time. Ric
  19. the bottom two on the right are tassie devils and are usually used for trout. I have previously caught australian salmon on them before but only in a bright pink colour. Ric
  20. Hi all, Just getting into offshore fishing as have recently upgraded to a boat capable of heading out of the rivers and am just wondering if anyone has ventured out to the Port Hacking FAD lately and if so if there has been any action with the dollies? Thinking of heading out in the morning so any reports would be great. Cheers Ric
