jay power Posted February 14, 2006 Share Posted February 14, 2006 does anyone out there recall where the old ferry wharf/ramp was at tom uglys i was reading an old fishing book,and it stated that there is a big hole of 13metres directly infront of the old wharf/ramp next to the brick wall.which side if any one knows. im just trying to get a few places in mind for sat nites jewie social. Knowing the area fairly well I think they have it backwards as the north side (Blakehurst) has a bay on each side of the point. I have only heard of this hole, this map can help but does not show the hole. http://www.maritime.nsw.gov.au/docs/botanybay_front.pdf Your correct. On the northern headland there is a small cliff directly under the bridge. From memory it is rather deep off the retaining wall but 13mt ???. Further out it is very deep on the western side around the third pylon . This is only accessable by boat Looking at the photo again , the spot from which it was taken is today , the car park on the northern headland. OWZAT Posted February 15, 2006 Share Posted February 15, 2006 G`day Fellas , I just spoke to Lawrie , and he said that that hole at TOm Uglys Bridge , had not fired in 30 odd years. I also cannot remember anyone catching a Jew from the Tom Uglys Ground ( North Side , western bank )either . Jay , I will PM you Mate.
