Hi all,

A fantastic weekend was had by all. There are so many stories to be posted on here and in the next day or so the post will be made. We had over 20 members attend and each and every one of them made it memorable.

I have 120 shots of the raiders at play and will put them into an album. Have a look at some shots to whet your appetite.

Top weekend guys, sensational stuff. See pic attached. I've got another 20 or so pics that I'll post on Yahoo or some other such site where you can download them. Any ideas let me know, I'll only be posting them when the beer runs out tonight!

You guys are the best fishos I've ever had the privilege of socialing with. Thanks Donna & Stewy, Brian & Teri for bringing it all together, putting on breakfast as well as for letting me crash the night!

Cheers guys,

Who was involved in the "bail arm incident"??

Who arrived in the carpark on the back of a vehicle? (the same idiot)

Who DID end up winning Blackjack - the adult drinking game?

Who couldnt decide how many lollipops to buy and bought the whole jar?

Who was the lazy turd who filled his esky with beers and made someone else carry it to the beach in the dark?

Did TEAM FISHRAIDER win the game of Charades against the occupants of Villas 1, 2 , 3 and 4?

Who had a potential trophy winning bream in one hand and a treble hook in the other?

What large group was cautioned to be removed from the caravan park for making too much noise at 1am?

Who drank schnapps?(and lived to tell the tale)

Who pretended to be The Submariner and swim out with his bait?

Who did commando rolls on the beach?

Who got lost at the pub?

Which 2 persons did NOT have their fishing licences?

Which raider saw 3 blokes walking onto the beach and commented on their pretty starlites (quote: hey look at these p#$%ters with the starlites on their rods) thinking they were 3 raiders, oops sorry

and finally

Who caught a pb saltwater catfish? (he thought he had the trophy won)

Is the beanbag to be adopted as the Fishraider mascot?

Well what a weekend that was! Well, half of it anyway.

A few thankyou's to begin with:

Stewy and Donna: A big thanks on behalf of everyone who attended, for organising such a great social day/weekend. I know how much effort you guys put in amd I'm sure it is appreciated by all.

Brian and Teri: Also a big thanks to you on behalf of the breakfast attendees. A couple of plates of bacon and eggs certainly made me feel a bit better for a short while.

All up it was a great weekend, thanks to all who made the effort to attend. I'm sure everyone will have a similar opinion. Looking forward to the next social, and hopefully it will be just as successful as this one was.

Guilty as charged your honour! But I had a GREAT time Saturday and Saturday night :biggrin2:. Thanks Chris for not letting me be the only one too hungover to fish.

Who got lost at the pub?

Ummm I think it was me? A quick stop at the bottlo and a 10 min walk across the bridge fixed that problem. :biggrin2:

if it does go in its got my vote :074:

remember the look on a kids face when he / she comes running up with their first ever bream of 6cm?

a bunch of us were sitting out front of the cabin having a couple of very quiet drinks (we were very well behaved) and here comes Stewie with that look on his face.

i'll put my hand up for the glowlight incident and the sub-mariner bit but apart from those two things i was the sober responsible adult of the weekend :tease:

if you get the oportunity to sit down with Stewie for a couple of drinks and a bit of story telling i can highly recommend it, he had us in stitches on friday night and got the weekend off to a flying start

Who was involved in the "bail arm incident"??

It was a casting lesson involving all the do's and dont's I understand how funny it would have looked from a distance out of ear shot. Moments before I cast I said to my young parawon "Make sure you dont forget to click the bail arm open otherwise this will happen" :biggrin2:

Who arrived in the carpark on the back of a vehicle? (the same idiot)

Theres nothing better than a stretch of the legs and some fresh air after a long drive I just couldnt wait until the long drive was over. :1prop:

Who was the lazy turd who filled his esky with beers and made someone else carry it to the beach in the dark?

If it was filled with beers I wouldnt have let it out of my sight. :074: The esky was half full from memory  and we all got lost in transit. Whos idea was it to go to the beach anyway?

Is the beanbag to be adopted as the Fishraider mascot?

I cant think of a better Idea All we need to ad is some fishraiser stickers and where set.

Thanks to all for a great weekend. I had a ball and look forward to the next weekend.

Congrats to Rus for winning the trophey. And thanks Teri for a great brecky and thanks for the rocket fuel Brian. And to all the modes for organising it. Thanks for the lift up Chris and thanks for the lift back Sam.

And last but not least a big thanks to ash for carrying the esky to the beach. :biggrin2:

Hey Raiders

Good to meet everyone at the social and to see that the Raiders really are a great bunch of guys and gals.

Unlike the rest of you me and my fishing buddy spent the morning fishing the beach, thereby missing out on much of the socialising (to my great disappointment). I kept waiting for the Raiders to come over the dunes and join us but I think the activities of the night before kept physical movements to a minimum. Especially Chris an Shane!! Nonetheless my fishing buddy and I did OK, with a decent bag of whiting caught using live beachworms that we'd picked up at Putty Beach at Kilcare the afternoon before.

Most interesting (fishing) moment for me was when I caught a whiting that had about a meter of line hanging out its mouth with a swivel still attached. When I checked, the fish had a hook firmly embedded in his throat with a nipper still attached, but was obviously unaffected as it didn't stop him wolfing down a worm as well. Anyone who has ever thought twice about cutting off a line and releasing a fish with a hook still in it should take note - apparently it doesn't slow em down too much.

Was very well organised - thanks to the Swordfishermen and the Outnumbered's - great location and good fun. Who knew that Fishraiders would be such a great group of people?

Now now Sharky I thinks you may be telling a little bit of a story to our avid readers :1tongue: .The only one who got lost was you !!!!!!!Jungle Jim :074: And bugger me if you didnt rejoin the trek when we sat down on the beach to get ready for the onslaught of the weed and wind :ranting2:

How would you have know if the esky was half full or half empty anyways seeing as you couldnt even follow the blokes and gals in front of you ,perhaps you snuck off for a quick :wank: .Only the ones who were there no the true story and I was one of em

What fish won the trophy? - I'm dying to know!

Flattieman.

It was Rus cb who had the honors for the weekend with a 44 cm flattie and a very close second was outdoor dan with a 43 cm flattie which I was privledged to watch him land .The quest for the trophy had some hard luck stories and sammyoo84 lost a screamer with a head like a shovel on the dredge rope .Outdoordan also had to make a choice about leaving a treble in his hand or releasing a very nice bream ,he chose the latter :05: The fishing was ok but the socialising was fantastic and would recommend it to everyone .

Well done Rus you lucky turd and we hope you had a nice trip back to WA and hope to see you back on the East Coast soon

Thanks for that. My condolences to sammyoo84 - I've caught some good flatties at The Entrance and seen 80cm+ ones in the shallows. The beach scene sounds like a laugh- how was beach fishing for tailor/salmon/jews/sharks?

The fishing was tough ,on the beach a howling Southeaster persisted all the time we were there :mad3: .Brian and I spent a night on the sand for no joy and Saturday nite we all had a bash at the JEWS but alas the wind and ever present weed made life near impossible to fish it ,most of us got busted off by the tonnes of weed that accumulated on our lines and there was a pretty heavy run to the south as well or sweep as some call it .There was a nice gutter in close and someone caught a couple of schoolies so I am told early in the morning .We decided we had taken all we could from the elements and decided to go back another time when conditions are more favourable. We were told there were salmon about but none were caught by anyone we seen :05: .I did get bitten off pretty badly by what I think was BIG TAILOR OR SHARK on the Saturday afternoon whilst talking with Shane which removed about 8 inches of my 30lb trace :1yikes: Simon (mondo) had a great session on the Sunday morning landing some very nice whiting and a loan flattie for his stepdad which was great . Jewhunter (grant) decided to fish on into the wee hours but even he got busted off by the weed with his elephant gun :ranting2: The beach session was a whole heap of laughs though and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone :yahoo:
