Catching Yakkas?

Yeh, I heard poddies were good. I've tried numerous times catching them with my bait trap but Im not sure if they were poddy mullets. Had like 20 or so trapped but also looked a bit like whiting?

I've also just bought some whitebait, any good?

And how about pilchards for the bigger fish? Planning to give pilchards a go next time i try botany or the wharf.

Sorry for the numerous questions.

Don't use yakkas in the lake , use poddy ."m"s .

on the east side of the bridge - near the first sand bank - use bread for berley and light line and prawn or bread.....

But .... consider lures like the gulps ..... they are like bait.

on the South side of the bridge you should be albe to get a nice flattie on a gulp - let it sink and bounce around...that "friendly" local store should help ( unless you want a license ) .

haraka, is that the east side (beach side) of ocean st bridge near the carpark?

Thanks.

1) Poddies are tops once you can catch 'em consistantly.

2) Whitebait are pretty good.

3) Pilchards are very good for flatties, but they will get attcked by pickers.

Flattieman.
