kiwifisher
Hit the Bay early Sat morning at 4.30am to try for a Jew, managed to get some livies but they weren’t in their usual numbers. No luck on the Jew front and only managed small snapper at the trevally alley. Saw what looked like a whale tail over towards La Perose and headed over for a closer inspection, one large Humpback Whale mucking around inside the bay!! He/she looked fairly happy but may have been a bit confused/sick due to the locality. The conditions looked ok outside so decided to run some lures up the coast, the swell was pounding in but the wind was offshore and light. Trolled all the way up to Coogee for nothing, tried a couple off reefs up that way for nothing. Decided to head back to the 3rd runway for the incoming tide, things were getting drastic as we had an empty bag and it was already 1pm. Burleyed up hard and manage 5 keeper flatties and 5 blue-swimmer crabs. A tough day but managed a top feed. Sorry about the lack of photos but camera decided to die on Friday, will have to replace for tis weekend.

Flattieman
Sounds like a top bag, kiwifisher!!! Well done! Crabs and flatties normally start to slow down at this time of year - good to hear that you pinned a few. Flattieman.

kiwifisher
Cheers for all the kind words, I was surprised with the blue-swimmers as they were all caught on large Jew baits that were on the bottom.
manama
Nice one kiwifisher, its always good to come home with a decent feed, especially when the first part of the day starts off so quiet. Manama
