Transducer Problem

I have a hummingbird Matrix 17x and the transducer cable has been damaged and no longer provides a propper picture I want to know if its possible to be repaired. The transducer was mounted on my electric motor and the cable was pinched in between the mounting bracket on the electric when lowering the motor.

Does anyone know if the cable can be cut and re-joined somehow?

From what i know a transducer cable cannot be cut and reattached.

You might have to buy a new one, but im sure someone here will know 100%

I bought the sounder from the US already, so I will look at getting another transducer from overseas.

Boat locker at Mona Vale have a hummingbird multi-beam transducer in the transducer crate. Give Bruce a call.

As to repair - there are about 5-6 wires in a multi-beam unit. The repair is easy - keeping it watertight is the hard bit. As for changing the cables impedence by shortning it by 10 cm - It makes little difference in my experiences playing with transducers.
