inspin
I remember watching these vids as a youngster and was wondering if anybody knows where to purchase these or if anybody is willing to part with their copies ?? This is the guy that made a few vids including Kingfish Secrets where he pins 3 kilo salmon and sends them out as live kingy baits. If tacklo's sell them are they on dvd now or is it still vhs. Thanks.
cap3
About 15 years ago one of the local video shops had a special section set aside on their shelves to cater for the local pub's fishing club. I've never seen so many fishing videos in the one place as what this joint had, I'd start at one end and by the time I finished watching all of them I'd start all over again cause' I never got sick of watching them I remember watching some videos with Geoff Thomas bloody good ones too from memory but I cant remember if they were the ones you were talking about. I miss having access to those vids, awesome action and no bloody adds like we have now on all the commercialised crap they put out I'd also be interested if anyone knew where to get a hold of the above mentioned vids as well as; The full Mal Florence DVD/vid set, Ron Calcutt series, from memory were called ''A Fishermans World" Rod Harrison series There was also a series of vids that the late John Mellion hosted which I enjoyed, anyone remember their name? There's more but these will do for now, I'm buggered if I can remember them as well. Inspin, sorry for hijacking your thread mate but this seemed like the ideal place to ask, maybe you remember some of these and wouldn't mind getting your hands on some of them
Guest danielinbyron
i find this a really interesting topic... i have rented some vids made by geoff in the past... allot of video stores have fire sales now and get rid of all there old stock.... i have been collecting old books and a couple of near ruined vids for a couple of years now... i guess it wouldn't be too difficult to digitise them and start a data base... i noticed it wasn't until this year that "Marlin off the rocks" ie. was available on dvd.. yet was still stocked as vhs at mo tackle.....and i guess allot of the old videos will just die and never be put to dvd...i will keep my eye out and have a search ... cheers d

inspin
no probs Cap3, Mal Florence, Ron Calcutt and Rod Harrison were great pioneers werent they? Would also love to get my hands on the fishermans world vids. I think we are showing our age here.... Unfortunately i dont reemember John Mellion though. Danielinbyron...they use to be available in my local vid as well, thats where i had seen them but i havent been there in years and when i returend the place was full of dvd's only....Geoff was the bloke who gave me the idea of using fish heads as bait for big snapper...i can still remember him using a huge bonito head and throwing it into the wash and getting slammed by a 10 kilo plus red. I will keep looking out for them and will let those interested know how i go.

I dont really know if he was a fisho at heart like most of us here, but the series of fishing vids that he hosted were great veiwing, his Aussie ocker presence gave these vids a real comical perspective. Wish I could remember their name
PPSGT
Inspin - I was just searching through the Fishraider site for topics on Snapper and read your old post about Snapper Secrets. Did you find it? I have that one on VHS plus a heap of South Australian Snapper DVD's about WHyalla. If I can work out some time in the future how to get it onto a DVD I might be able to send you a copy.
