Sir Battler Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Have been laid up since friday last week due to wisdom teeth removal so decided to hit the Iron Cove bridge for a half assed session. Bought some crappy looking chicken guts from the servo and some basic tackle since my gear is still with a mate. Managed a 3 bream (20-25cm), (luckily) snared a blue swimmer about 30 across the shell and a decent flatty around 60-70cm (exactly two thongs long). Ran out of beer and getting burnt so called it quits after about 1 1/2 hrs. Would you guys eat fish / crabs from the iron cove area
Guest Jewel Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Definately not!!! Particularily the crabs. The mud in IC is a particularily nasty foul smelling type that you usually get around storm water drains associated with urban runoff/pollution.

namesay Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I would rather drink from a sewer!!! Cheers Kelvin
Little_Flatty Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Filthy as it is, isn't it a wonderful place! Agreed though regarding eating things out of there. I personally have eaten fish out of there but I wouldn't put money on it being healthy on a regular (more than once :S ) basis!
Sir Battler Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Cheers fellas, will definitely be catch and release. With all the other crap i eat and drink, the dioxin could be the proverbial straw that broke the camels back
