swansea_fisho
Hey Raiders, Was just curious to see what would be the most unusual capture fishing near fad a fishraider has caught? Mine would have to be a 7 kg Kingfish taken off the terrigal fad last year. Have seen a bloke pull a Marlin off the one at Swansea Cheers Steve

netic
I have never caught a marlin off my boat have caught a few of a friends boat and when we caught them we have always caught them in close vicinity to a fad. We will do a run through 8 private fads which are 2 kms apart each and keep going past each one, (like a join the dots thing). We have a 50% hit rate, 1 out of 2 trips we will get onto a marlin, wont always boat it but always seem to get hit. From what i have been told marlin love chasing dollies. I havent caught a big king near a fad but last season we were out at the waverider and we were catching dollies like crazy, then the bite stoped and 2 minutes later we saw 3 kings in the water, must of been 10kg + threw everything at them, Yakkas, Lures they didnt want to touch them, one yakka was right in front of him and he left it alone. Have also caught plenty of Stripeys around the fads
Guest Big-Banana
Not really odd things, Ive got Dolphin fish, Striped Tuna. Ive caught these things which look just like the freshwater archerfish? I caught a 40cm kingie once as well.
swansea_fisho
Cheers fellas, thanks for all your replies. Would love to get something different at the fads nothing wrong with the dollies though. A Marlin or Wahoo would be tops Dan: mate was that the yellowfin shown in your Dvd?
