Hired a houseboat with my mate Robert & young son Simon this week , Monday to Thursday

What a great way to explore the river & fish , fish , fish. So convienent , fish out the back , fridge & kitchen only a metre or so away & if feeling a bit tired lay down for a short kip.

We left Brooklyn mid morning Monday & headed down river to Cowan Creek. Bumpy ride down , driving into a stiff Southerly but once in Cowan , smooth sailing.

Into Jerusalem Bay & tied up to one of the public morings in Pinta Bay. Into the fishing , heaps of bait fish , caught a few Yakka which were hooked onto heavy gear looking for a big Jew. Unfortunatly they did not want to play  but nice sceenry to pass the time

Tuesday , left the bay & headed back up river stopping along the way to fish , result 1 30cm Flattie.

Past Milsons Island to Bar Point for a few drifts , no action.

Into Berowra & droped the pick in Bennetts Bay. As night fell the surface activity increased with fish , I think Tailor , all around. Do you think they would take a bait , not a touch. Later in the night Rob hooked onto what looked like a large cat fish. We parted companyat the side of the boat.

In the morning Rob took Simon for a row around the bay

We motered up to Spencer which was as far as we were allowed to take the boat. Did a U turn , back down to Pumpkin Point , pick down for the night.

The action was a bit better with several rays & small Pt Jackons sharks & in the morning 2 nice Bream on going 36cm which was a PB for me

Thursday , up anchor & motored back to the marina , stopping along the way & picking up a small throwback jew.

Arrived back around 1.00pm , unloaded & headed for home.

What a great 4 days :yahoo:

For those that may be interested , we hired a 4 - 6 berth from RIPPLES , comfortable with 3 on board, 4 would be OK , more than that , very squeezy. Cost , all up inc food & running cost , approx $1000

Looking foward to the next one
