Red
hey mate, im the rodbuilder at fishfinder, and im sure tony is happy you like the reel mate. gee, it took some work to get the the plate at the top of the spool off!!! about 5 of us did our heads in trying to work out how toget it off without ruining it. Do you mind telling us how you got it off? Was it simple in the end? Cheers Red
Chef
Do you mind telling us how you got it off? Was it simple in the end? Being one of the many that afternoon i can tell you the trick. The top is actually held in by being a tight fit and working on the same principal as "o" rings sealing out moisture. The trick is to pull evenly all around the circumfrence, not one side at a time. With the benefit of a little experience i would now make a small tool that was bent at right angles to slip in the middle hole and then lever up all around evenly. Simple , just not at the time. My advice would be to take it to Tony at fishfinder and pay the extra to have him do it. The middle cap is plastic and does damage easy if your not careful. If your at the Social on Sunday look for me & i'll show you what i mean. I'll be in the yellow boat with scales over the front selling the bait for Tony.
