Hi raiders,

Can anyone sugest the best place to catch squid around the bayveiw/scotland island area?

Any help would be appreciated as im pretty keen to catch my first king.

Anywhere you can find kelp beds, have a few drifts jigging for squid. If you have no luck after 20mins or so move on to the next place.

The west side of Scotland island has kelp beds, as do Portugese beach, the Basin and west head to name a few. Just get out their and explore, and im sure with enough persistance you will get a few

You'll find squid almost anywhere in pittwater. Try the wharves and anywhere there is weed, drop offs, reefy boulders..etc. Water between2-6 meters seem to get me the best results. West head, barrenjoey are also good but the swell can be a problem for smaller boats. Cheers Kelvin
