big_steve
should be plenty of whiting on offer there mate as there usually are.. blood worms and peeled prawns work a treat.. fish as light as u can with a long shank hook and a red bead above the hook this works very well for whiting as an attracter, steve
Guest DV8
Hiig Steve I Lived on Narrabeen Lakes for 26 years. Squid was never a good bait. In fact all my childhood I thought squid was a crap bait until I ventured out of Narrabeen lake. Like someone else said, peeled prawns or worms if you can get them. Jews are only vary rarely get caught in the lake, and it is the exception rather than the rule. Saying that though it is exactly the right time of year to be getting them with the next big (Xmas) tides, as anyy Jews I can remember being caught were right on Xmas at night in deep water near trhe Pittwater Road Bridge. Had a mate that used to target them 40 years ago with live prawns at night on the big tides from the island. I wouldn't be targeting Jews in the lake though or you may be one very dissapointed angler. regards Davo
