I haven't posted a catch report for over a year now(that's how long I haven't been fishing for.)

With no boat to fish(haven't finished building the damn things) I decided to hit the rocks at sun rise

Armed with my favoured blackfish rod and Alvey,block of pillies (from Fishfinder).

Tossed unweighted pillies in the wash.

Wasn't expecting much, to my amazement the little Alvey was spinning in a blur in the palm of my

hands. Set the hook and out jumps a good Sampo.

Hooked one Sampo Hooked them all!! That's until u have 3Kilos of fish at the base of ugly rock

ledges with a spaghetti rod and 6 pound line.

To cut a long story short hooked 6 landed 5 kept 3 for the kid and wife.

All fish where 60-70cm to 3kg. Had a ball for 2 hours and made it home for breakfast.

Found a Blackfish left in a small rock pull (about a 900g) looking distressed ,grabbed him and

throw him back.(all his x-mas's had come at once)

Great trip by the sound of it.

Sampo's arent bad to catch at the best of times but where you fished must of made it more satisfying.

Had it been me though I would have kept the blackfish and sent the rest back to neptune. lol lol

Well done on catchin them Sambos(i think thats wat u meant)

and letting that Blackfish out of that rockpool.
