  1. Some nice fish and photos there Ross. And a good tip for us punters. Hazza
  2. The small boat looks like it is wraped.computer imprinted onto vinyl. Applied with a heat gun and stretching the material. Very popular with the Bass/Bream guys. The big cat is hand painted ,hence the not so life like appearance. Hazza
  3. Hats of to you fellers. How far out did you get it. Hazza
  4. Hi Heuy .Didn't see the point about the larger Stacer. Saw one in Perth 6m+Platy impressed. Are they a true self draining deck (sealed deck Fore and Aft?) At what size is this available ,As some people consider a 5.5 m boat an offshore boat. Not having a go at Stacer boats they are a lovely boat for what they are ,For me not a true offshore Battle ship .(My 10m Platy with twin diesels -now that's an offshore boat. When I finish it ) Hazza
  5. Huey sorry I'm questioning your experience ,but how to you see the safety aspect on levelfloatation on The large Stacers? They stay level if swamped in calm water(lake) the majority of time the boat of this size will be fishing coastal waters. Those little excuses of pumps will be working overtime before the boat sinks . Sorry Huey It has to be self draining all the way when fishing off shore. And if you or others think other wise ,read Ross Hunters post on 100knot from the West. Hazza (always think of the worst)
  6. Spizza I think it's time you started comming down to Maroubra for a fish Hazza
  7. As a resident of Chipping Norton I've walked the beaches (If that;s what you call them) and I've never seen needles, mostly broken glass. Great system to fish with plenty to offer. Local knowledge is a must. Hazza
  8. You cant get the Furuno 4100 there discontinued. 6100 is still avalable and it can read Browns. Gps capable also. Hazza
  9. Sorry for asking but did you say plasti bond as in bog\general putty? Filler for boats has to be epoxy based. Or filler will crack and fall off. Hazza
  10. Yeah I noticed the other week on the M5 0500 in the morning ,What boat. Hazza
  11. Well done Steve. Hazza( I bet cris is fuming. )
  12. Well done for releasing the bluey. Plenty of fish for a feed. Hazza
  13. Exiting stuff PK. I have been braining the Whiting also this couple of days. My biggest so far 42cm @620g,also plenty of 30-38cm. Haven't tried worming my local beach as I don't think I'll get any. Maybe I should give it a go. Good luck with the remaining run of succulent whiting. Hazza
  14. Kracker Short bill Hal. Good going boys ,and many more to come. Hazza
  15. I haven't posted a catch report for over a year now(that's how long I haven't been fishing for.) With no boat to fish(haven't finished building the damn things) I decided to hit the rocks at sun rise Armed with my favoured blackfish rod and Alvey, block of pillies (from Fishfinder). Tossed unweighted pillies in the wash. Wasn't expecting much, to my amazement the little Alvey was spinning in a blur in the palm of my hands. Set the hook and out jumps a good Sampo. Hooked one Sampo Hooked them all!! That's until u have 3Kilos of fish at the base of ugly rock ledges with a spaghetti rod and 6 pound line. To cut a long story short hooked 6 landed 5 kept 3 for the kid and wife. All fish where 60-70cm to 3kg. Had a ball for 2 hours and made it home for breakfast. Found a Blackfish left in a small rock pull (about a 900g) looking distressed ,grabbed him and throw him back.(all his x-mas's had come at once) Hazza
  16. Thumber Blue eye Mako. Nice gem fish also. Hazza
  17. That is good and dandy fellers but I'm having trouble thoughts about it. I'm in the process of building 2 boats at the moment (35ft-17ft). while I get my accessories at trade prices some are still cheaper on the net. I can buy on the net Humming Bird,Furuno,Eagle,Lowrance,JRC,etc Cheaper than I can get it at trade price. With tackle on some net sites you can get real bargains with free delivery. It makes you wonder the middle man how much he is making. Personally I'm trying to avoid buying overseas, as a business owner I know the costs involved to stay afloat, work hard to make an honest living and put food on the table. The net would damage alot of that for alot of shop owners. My boats need $110K to finish I can save on net buying $10.000 in total. I wish no body buys from overseas but I wouldn't hold agrach against them if they did,you do what you go-to do. Hazza

    Downrigger

A cheaper way of doing it would be to feed your bait out , attach a 1 pound snapper sinker or heavier, with a rubber band. The violent jerk when hooked up usually breaks the sinker It's abit rough but you do save $ Hazza
  19. Come past my workshop at Arncliffe. PM for the address. Hazza
  20. Well done Jewel. Hard work but you guys managed to get a few. Hazza
  21. I'll second that, regarding BB Marine. Does a good job at a good rate, Happy. Hazza
  22. From memory I thing Bill told me It's like 3000m deep. You would need a 3-5kw sounder to read depths like that. If you can fish that deep imagine the ogglies that you'll pull up. Hazza
