Finally Got Into Some Blackies

Hi guys

Was just about thinking of tossing in the lake fishing till after the visitors go - but the other half wanted to run on 9 Mile beach this morning at 6.30am, so I went too - the tide was about to turn & start going out!

Went to one of my favourite blackie spots & shortly had some hits - obviously little stuff, just getting the bait without the float even registering a hit! Then I got one - about 30cm followed by 2 more, similar size. Then got my first double hookup - both small, so released. Then I fished with some cabbage from the rocks there & got a nice fat 35cm one & 2 more throw backs.

Ended up with 4 - kept 2 & gave the neighbour 2 - he gave me a nice bunch of home grown 'lady finger' bananas, so it was a good morning's work! I don't mind eating the bananas once I get home, not before I leave for fishing!

My brother arrives next week, so no doubt we will hit the beaches! Will let you know what happens
