Went through botany heads at around 6 yesterday with all intentions of heading to heatons hill where all the good water was to get us a blue. After having to back off to 15 KNOTS with the slopy ne swell and the wind chop on top of that we all thought 70 fathoms was as far as we would travel. :1badmood: With one of the crew who had just returned from 2 weeks at south west rocks and taging 3 blue marlin and a sailfish on PINK lures we were all keen to get out there and try these pink lures.

After reaching 80 fathoms we decided to put a spread of lures out. After backing the boat off and running with sea to get the riggers out which isnt to fun in that messy crap one of the boys yelled MARLIN which was tailing the wall of water behind us.Unfortunately We had no lures ready to tempt her she swam straight on by :05: after setting the lures and standing back and holding on to anything you could  the shot gun goes off after clearing the rods we tagged a yellowfin of around 15 kgs here we go another one of those days birds everywhere :yahoo: we trolled around the birds through the birds stipeys everywhere not a hit. :mad3: we made it to browns and 2 miles past, with the ocean not geting any better we turned and headed back to the shelf for the edge of the green and blue water.

Halfway between browns and the shelf the witch docter suddenly gets thrown into the air what the f*** was that! After retrieving the witch docter the mirrors were smashed and 2 big bill marks where the mirrors used to be! :mad3: By now the wind had dropped to around 5 knots and the sea to nothing we found the wide botany fad, nothing there in that green mess :1badmood: So back out to the shelf for the good water trolled for another 3 hours for not a hit, must be the PINK LURES
