Took my eldest son out on the bay yesterday for a quick fish.We headed over to the breakwall to get some livies and had 5 little yakka's swimming around in the live bait tank.We then anchored at the end of the breakwall, sent down the first yakka and started rigging some light gear the rod buckles over he's all over it telling me get out of the way after a short fight i look down in the water thinking it's a rat king but no its a jewie once in the boat he's jumping up and down screaming it's a jewie a quick measure and it's 56cm after a couple of phone calls to pa & mum we put out another yakka
this one lasts about the same time before the rod buckles over again with a little help to get the rod out of the rod holder he was fighting again this one gave him a bit of curry another jewie was in the net a bit bigger 62cm more phone calls another yakka went out but anchor had pulled off goes the rod again this ones mine with the line sceaming off a nice king at 68cm was in the net moved back to where we first anchored and sent down the baits again for no luck, headed back after an hour, got home and ran to all the neighbours showing his catch very happy boy..
