glenn Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 (edited) fish the bill hayward on bounty hunter friday and saturday .went to heatons hills on friday raised a blue about 10am but he was just a looker then about 2pm hooked a monster from the deep a blue that we all called 300kg + the only thing was he ate the 24kg !!!!needless to say he wasnt on for long spat the hook.went to the southern canyons on sat due to the southerly fish side by side with the boys on jenifer-E thay hooked up almost as soon as we got there small striped marlin on the stripey lure dont need to tell you what happend !about half an hour later jenifer-E nearly got a free jumping blue marlin through the windscreen the boys didnt even see it !!. then the southerly hit so we started heading back. then we hooked up on a little striped marlin only to drop him on the trace (bugger) just as we lost our fish jenifer -E hooked up but they droped there fish to .headed home before it got too nasty !!!got a call from michel from mbt lures who fish today to say he tagged two striped marlin today and dropped four black marlin he said two of the blacks were close to 200kg . Osprey Rider Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 G'day Raiders, On Saturday we fished The Banks, we landed a 72kg Black just as the Southerly hit at about 9am. It took a pink skirt that we bought out of the discount bin at the boat show. Water temp was 22.7.

Supposed to be a good spot.

Ive been waiting all year for that time of year and im looking forward to it. I cant believe your not going back down untill that late??? By then the little stripes might be big stripes!

fishingmik Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Yeah there out there we had a few hits from one last saturday off port kembla 1 followed our lure for about 30 mtrs just didnt want to take it hopefully will catch one this year only the second season i have tried to catch one

Supposed to be a good spot. left at 4.30am got there at just after 7am its about 14 to 16miles past browns .i wouldnt recomend it in a small boat though we are in a 35ft boat and we have pick our days .i have also seen it when its flat as a tack at browns and 3mts at the hills .but we have seen some big fish there
