Patonga Creek

Ive fished Patonga many times for mainly flathead. Ive used sp's, live bait and frozen bait in the past and they all seem to work on their day. I (and others) seem to catch just legal flathead, ie round 40cm thrown in with many just under sized ones.

For sp's, mainly used squidgees as they work, 55mm shad in red, silver, gary glitter and hot pink.

Also had success on trolling hb lures, manns stretch 5+ work well if you can source them.

Several types of live bait can be sourced at patonga on low tide, poddies, soldier crabs and nippers...take your pick.

Ive mainly fished the low tide at Patonga, more towards the caravan park. Just find the deep water that runs off the shallow sand banks and you should find some fish. I know up creek there are some extensive sand flats out of the weed, which also will hold flathead. Drifting is prob the best way to find the fish, as you cover more area

Good Luck and Cheers
