Steven Johnstone
After prawning up at The Entrance last month for about 1/2 kilo, I was wondering what the prawning is like at Narrabeen Lakes. I rang a local bait shop & was told it is very popular. But no posts to that effect on this site. What are my chnaces this weekend & what spots are recommended? Guest DV8
You will most likely spend the night chasing one prawn around the front of the caravan park. Lived on Narrabeen Lake for 25 years. Never got more than enough for bait.
VietGod
You're right there DV8...spent about 2 hours last time for about 20 prawns, enough for bait only. Did catch a blue swimmer though which was surprising. Caught in front of the Caravan Park. The only way to catch big prawns these days is to get a boat and catch the prawn run up in Swansea. Cheers. Guest DV8
Johno You would be better trying Long reef lagoon on the next dark (hang on , that may be now). You will probabaly do OK. Davo

Johno they probably come up with that to get you into buying prawning gear... there are prawns in narra lagoon but as previously stated you wont be walking away with kilos of them after a session. I have not prawned DY lagoon before but have heard from other reports thats its decent. best of luck cheers pk
