Alvey Deck Winch

I am thinking of getting an Alvey deck winch for my boat for a bit of deep water fishing, so I wanted to know how they perform etc. Any feedback appreciated.

I am probably looking at a reef queen, I am interested in how they perform with the braid, without the rod you have no shock absorber nor leverage in deeper water this may not be as relevant? with a deck winch being a straight wind so you take the full weight on the reel maybe harder but you dont have the weight of the rod and reel!

I suppose one of the issues I have is that a reef queen has around a 355mm diameter just over a metre of line per revolution, if i get a another 50w or 80w and load full of 130lb braid will bring in just slightly less line taking into account the gear ration, but would be a more verstile outfit.
