caine
got a couple of days off work, yesterday took the wife and kid out in the boat for a picnic and play on a private beach.. and of course a bit of fishing the tides where crap during the day, fishing was slow. the water was very muddy due to recent rains managed only 1 jew at 46cms (went like a plastic bag on my 15kg rod) after that got about 1 million of catfish but was a good day out anyway i noticed a lot of very small dead stingrays when walking along the beach, counted 5 in about 50meters. the beach was down wind!!! what would cause the deaths though? DaveD
Even then catching too many sting rays, or 'unwanted fish' shouldn't have people going and just throwing them to die on land. Nothing wrong with sting rays in my opinion.

Davemmm
got me wondering if rays a sensitive, and have a poor survival rate after being hooked Not sure about that. I got one a couple of weeks ago with an old hook, trace and swivel hanging out of it's gob. Didnt stop it swallowing a nice slice of mullet and another 3/0 hook.
