Hi guys

Hit botany yesterday(last month of march)

On water at 5.30

Hit the livie grounds for stuff all saw a school of mullet swimming around threw a berkly 5"jerskad out and had the tail bitten off.

Trolled around mol point with divers for a short while with no success

trolled to the drums and trolled around the drums for nothing.

Decided to have a jig around all the drums had 2 follow up's from approx 50cm kings and got smashed by something that took paint off and chipped a jig. And another hit which dropped.

The only drum that anything showed up on the sounder and any action was at was the drum marked M3

Fished watts reef for a wrasse and a few small pinkies tried berkly 5" jerkshads first 7 casts out had 7 hits lost one lure to a suspect tailor.

All in all a crap day fishing and the weather was twice as bad.

First trip in a long time where we havn't caught a legal fish.,, or even livies.

cheers james

The Bay can be really hard, if not dam near impossible, in weather like what we had over the weekend.

I heard that the ledge on the Sth side of the heads, as you head out but before you go round, was producing for some of the boys in the tournament this weekend.

They figured that as it was out of the wind the bait fish may hold up there as well.Worth remembering for next time if the wind is up again.

hey james we fished the bay yesterday to.

the wind was blowing so bad you could hardly fish.

we caught heaps of livies though, around yarra bay.

you were right about the fishing though, we only caught a legal kingie on a live yellowtail and that was the only hit all day.

well at least you were out there.

first drop i had the biggest hit and run of my life

lasted all of 15 seconds

thing went nut's going sideways and back and forth

then busted

possible kingy ?

i don't know , but the bait hadn't hit the bottom and BANG

what a rush

we ended up drifting out wide and got some nice flatties and jackets

sorry no pics

my phone was at home

wind changed to a N/W and took a while to get back to the Bay

once inside it was calm as calm

sure was a shit day out there, good to see you around for most of the day.

we left early as the chop was absolutely killing us and making the trip back VERY uncomfortable!

the fishing was really slow also, took 3 hours to get 7 yakkas. 3 of which got stolen off my 6/0's by diving birds :mad3: the kings just wernt interested. tried at mol point and hot water, then had enough and tried at cooks river where i could finally get some serious RPM out of the motor (before the bridge ofcourse ;) )

at least the wind stoped most of the jet skiers

Shame about the lack of fish guys,

suppose 'you gotta be in it to win it' though :1prop:

thats exactly right, me and james will be chasing the kings a lot more in the next two weeks since its finally the holidays.
