Happy Easter All,

Just a quick question: Can you still operate a traditional vessel (licensed) if you have a PWC license?

I have always wanted to know the legislation regarding this as I have never seen it in the Safe Boating Handbook.

i have no idea to be honest, but i figure it would be pretty str8 forward, a pwc license allows u to drive a pwc. not a boat.

But when you go for your PWC License I think you sit the General + the PWC section. Does this still mean you can only drive a PWC???

Yes you can drive normal boats. If you have a standard licence you are not allowed to use a PWC.

as far as im aware , you have to sit for your standard boat lic then after that you can go for your pwc

To get your pwc licence you have to pass your standard boat licence first.

If you have a pwc licence, then you are eligible to drive a boat.

when you sit for the test you will be handed the boat test once u pass the person behind the counter will hand you the PWC test this is how it was back in 2001 when i got both of my licences
