fishyfingers Posted May 20, 2007 Share Posted May 20, 2007 (edited) Kids woke up early this morning for some UNGODLY reason so I told them to get their stuff on we're going fishing. Grabbed my new carbon fibre rod (thanks again Sean) and my 9ft one piece and headed out. Got to the warf opposite the rowing club at about 9am and sent out the 9' with a half pillie on. While i'm rigging up my little one for SP's, the 9 footer gets SMASHED! By the time I pick it up, i'm snapped off!! Anyway, rigged it up again and sent it off in amoungst the moored boats and was flicking 3 inch minnows around on the small one. Tailor were taking grabs at it but nothing major. My daughter says can I have a go dad. So I cast it out and give it to her to retrieve slowly. I went and checked on the big rod and by the time I lookewd back over, she'd left the rod on the warf and went to play with her sister and brothers! I pick it up and BANG .... flattie #1...around the 30cm mark To the kids' surprise, he was released Then There's a boat wanting to pick up some passengers so I go to pull in the 9 footer and bang ...flattie # 2 ..... again around the 30 cm mark.
