  14. Gday all, Havent posted in ages and i went for a fish today so i thought i might as well so here goes, Started out with hopes of chasing the dollies but they faded when we got through the heads and despite calm`conditions the sea was very choppy. So we decied to drift the south head and we picked up a few keeper flatties. The wind started to pick up an so did they rain and we werent up for sittin in the cold rainy crap for a few flatties, so we headed back in with a stop at cliffton gardens. We burleyed up and threw some squid out wih faint hopes of a king. Nothing happened for ages so we decided to pack up but just as we were starting to pack up we heard that wonderful scream of the reel goin off its nut as a kingie blasted the squid nd took off. As paul ( my mates dad) fought the damn thing it went dead so he wound in and got it really close we wouldnt have just aout seen it but it saw us first and went nah F*%$ that and took off again resulting in a bust off. The most annoying bit about it is of the four rods we had in the water, the king happend to take the lightest rod with the crappyest reel Anyway shit happenes i spose, Have a good one, Brad
  15. oohh man i love fresh tailor, that one reminds me of the one i caught at the entrance social earlier this year. mmmmmm

  17. Well i work at maccas and after we clean the grill with high temp cleaner its still got the brownish tinge from the cleaner and oil so instead of water we use sprite to wash it down and it works very well the grill comes up shining

  22. Hey mate, I love fishing at bundeena specially at spot "x" which is near a camping ground in bundeena its a few k,s west of the warf but there is a walking track comminf from the campsite and it eventually gets to a foot brige that leads across a little back creek out of the hacking and if you back track a bit there is a small path that leads you into the water from the side, though you have to be careful treading you way through all the "sticky upy things" and you just wade out to your knees and cast (run out tide) before the deep spot that runs under the bridge and lety the current take your bait or sp from the shallower water under to the dfeep spot or (run in tide) cast immediatelyy into the deep spot and let the current take it out into the shallower water i found using chicken breast/gut works best ive caught many flathead and bream and funnily enough my mate caught a sizeable snapper from there so its a porductive little creek you just have to place your bait correctly and its a beautiful spot too it may get a little busy depending on when you go if its during the week you should be fine. Hope that helped. Cheers, Brad
  23. G'day all, Im up the coast at the moment staying on bribie island and my mate abd i decided to go for a surf. All was goin well until i looked out to sea to find a wave worth catching when i saw this big grey shape in the water bout 20-30 m away then a fin popped out of the water and i shat it. Never moved so fast in my life, as we were a distance into the water. We got bach onto the beach with hearts racing only to find my mate say "christ its only a dolphin". We had a laugh after thet but i tell you what when i was in the water i crapped it hard man i thought no bloddy way . Also went fishing out of caloundra and saw a couple of whales swimming by, the biggest of which did a brilliant jumping show not 30m from the boat it was great. Anyway just some highlights of the trip, cheers, Brad
  24. Great report mate those hammer heads go hard aye my dad caught one once and he said it was great fun
  25. Hey hobbit, i used to fish round that area quite a bit and along the mangroves near the karuah jetty provide some very nice flatties, and yes you were correct in saying those oyster leases between the bridge and the jetty hold some beefy bream. a little further east of the jetty are some great driftin ground for a whole variety of fish from whiting through to thumper flounder. Oh and if you are into crabs id certainly reccomend setting some traps as ive caught man huge blue swimmers and muddies around the area before. Bait i found the best was chicken or fresh prawns. Have fun as i would regard the karuah area especially between the bridge and the jetty to be one of my favorite places fish. Hope that helped. Cheers, Brad
