bolan
live baits are sometimes not on a Jews diet. Sounds weird but when we run a spread behind the boat, the menue may consist of 1 x FRESH squid 1 x FRESH fish -butterflied - mabe taylor, mullet, yakka, slimie 1 x Livie - taylor, mullett, slimie or yakka 1 x FRESH Prawn or stip of the abovementioned fish It is suprising how many times a jew strikes the butterflied fish, as opposed to the live bait. Sometimes they go the squid, sometimes they go the prawn! Play around, but make sure you have a bit of a seafood platter available ! Cheers Stumpy

Sharky
Use a bream for live bait mate. I caught a jew a while back and it had a 33cm bream in its guts. This jewie was only about 9kgs. Match the hatch my friend.

Plenty of jews have been caught on frozen baits, i just prefer the fresh stuff and i believe this increases my chances somewhat...

The best strip/butterfly bait you can use is one that is 100% fresh. Flathead, bream, jew it doen't matter, catch your bait on the way to your fishin spot and you will do better.
