live baits are sometimes not on a Jews diet.

Sounds weird but when we run a spread behind the boat, the menue may consist of

1 x FRESH squid

1 x FRESH fish -butterflied - mabe taylor, mullet, yakka, slimie

1 x Livie - taylor, mullett, slimie or yakka

1 x FRESH Prawn or stip of the abovementioned fish

It is suprising how many times a jew strikes the butterflied fish, as opposed to the live bait.

Sometimes they go the squid, sometimes they go the prawn!

Play around, but make sure you have a bit of a seafood platter available !

Cheers

ive been gettin em of late along with grantkingfisher and flygti, biggest was mine goin 90cm.fly had a fillet of tailor the other night which resulted in a bust off after a sreamin first run. we usually live bait the the usual suspects yakkas, squid, tailor etc.

the problem being is they're gone, couldnt get em the other nite

we goin 4 the 10 kg and above jews now :biggrin2:

i might try wattos bait freezer and hope 4 the best .

wat bout frozen gar, yakka, mullet fillet has any1 got lucky from these baits

or is it a waste of time.

Plenty of jews have been caught on frozen baits, i just prefer the fresh stuff and i believe this increases my chances somewhat...

The best strip/butterfly bait you can use is one that is 100% fresh. Flathead, bream, jew it doen't matter, catch your bait on the way to your fishin spot and you will do better.
