There is no such thing as a secret spot........I believe Spot X or SPot Y are terms used by people who dont want to expose there locations which they seem to think are secret...which in fact are not.... I prefer to let people know where i catch my fish and give them a shot also...Have never use Spot X in my reports and dont plan too.. Stillerockin...if you want some good locations PM me..i have marks for Various wrecks and reefs inside MH and the main harbour that i have stumbled onto over the years that hold shitloads of kings...... There's a lot more sea between fish these days, so it takes more effort and more advanced tactics. Yeah try it in an open console tinny in the weather we have had for the last 2 weeks . Then you will get a feel for how we fish! 1st THOUGHT Im more than happy to help put others onto fish,,,,,, like the kingy social day,,,,, where between myself, Greg and another mate,,,, we managed put more than 6 other fishos onto double, triple and quad hookups of kingys! Myself an co were in 3 seperate boats with deckies Was great watching their faces,,,, ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 2nd THOUGHT You have done the hard work, ie fishing in potential tusami's,,, however the hell u spell it,,,, fished in 3M+ seas in a tinny,,,, and fished in the worst storms Sydney has experienced in over 5 years. I cant fault people for not wanting to disclose the vicinity of their potential "SPOT X". Especially when it has produced the goods for you!!!!! To those asking for the location, I say cmon mate, think about your lil tricks,,,, would you disclose them???? ... Everyone has something to hide, or needs a fall-back spot! Ask any jewie specialist worth his salt where he just pulled that 60LB outa???????? Final thought and Im sorry if this post has put anyone offside, but at the end of the day everyone gets in on the action,,,,, so If you want a spot to be know as location X, Y, Z whatever,,,, it is only a matter of time till someones sees you fishing it, and spreads the word,, so Why not keep it tight lipped,,, it all comes out eventually! KingsRule Posted June 19, 2007 Share Posted June 19, 2007 I agree with all the points here,i mostly fish landbased and in my opinion is fine if you want to keep a couple of spots secret , no worries, im glad to help out anyone but there have been times where i have told a couple of people and the next time i go down there was half a dozen fisho's down where there is normally no one..not happy. As i hate fishing landbased in big crowds (clifton gardens in summer ) trying to find new spots is always on the adgenda , if i find a spot that constantly produces i keep it on the downlow , i dont want there to be a CG junior. Twenty people on here can say they have messaged me and been given those locations and msged me back to say they have caught squid......many people also can say that i have seen them on the water once.... got there number and when i have found kings i have called them to come and get into them... No beef against you.......the spot x comment is not directed at anyone but Owzat said....not one fishing spot is a secret spot Spot X is most often used to do the following... "i got fish from SPot X...sorry guys you will have to figure it out for yourself to get into these fish" But please feel free to give me accolades...... I got so much help when i first started chasing kings and without that help i never would have landed so many of them.....I joined a forum like this one to learn more myself and to help a few people on the way... Trust me if you reveal your locations you will never regret it....i have received so much help from other members its not funny....... I have nothing agaisnt you guys....i have chatted with a few of you at the spit..(dont know which ones) But you gotta expect that other people are thinking your being secretive when you use words like "spot X" Think back to when you started fishing...don't you wish people just said they got fish from here....i dont reveal all of my locations by i dont go as far as using code names for spots either...to do so would mean i think i discovered the spot yeah i agree that the spot XYZ comments are a little over the top, i see it as a big brag or secretive session dont take it as offence any1 but it comes across that way.... i remember first joining the site and reading spot x alot and i often thought geez it sucks how ppl are so secretive about spots some guys go out and carve up on which ever species and then TRY talk it up by saying spot x spot z so on and so forth, each to there own but it gets ABIT old fashioned after a while... i personally 6-8months ago was a total fishing amature after reading mainly netics and namesays reports it inspired me to get out there and have a dig, i remember harrassing netic with PM after PM and he ALWAYS guided me and gave PLENTY of great knowledge eventually saying mate jump on my boat and ill show u the ropes, also the same with kelvin aka namesay the 1st trip with netic there was nothing to hide and i learnt a HELL of alot and now days share the info ive learnt to other raiders that ask... i can say that i along with netic dont have ANY secrets ive seen days netics called numerous guys on the water saying quick come over here the fish are on or i just got 5 squid hurry and come over i think sometimes guys forget its all about having fun out there and catching FISH is what we all wanna try and do im truely greatfull for the amount of knowledge that has been passed down to me this site has some great members and fishing is all of our passions, id just hate to see future arguements stemmed by this SPOT XYZ talk... if guys dont wanna give away locations then so be it but i think that to some people, reading the whole XYZ comes across as very secretive and bragish.. just my 2bobs worth steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
