E_Cura Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hi Raiders I'm gearing up to purchase a GPS and am considering a Handeld, anyones comments, feedback & experiences would be great. Any recomendations on what i should look for, features makes models etc. Thanks for your responses Keep Fishing!
Dalucius Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I would say it depends on where and what you're using it for. Maybe you could let us know what uses you have in mind. I have a handheld one the only thing I would like is a bigger screen and waterproof. It's about 5 years old so I'm sure there would be more up to date ones out there. My next one will when we upgrade the sounder in the boat. Big colour screen would be nice.
Guest Reely Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Anything by Garmin, very user friendly and i have not used one thats easier to use. Others come close but Garmin would be my pic, look at the gps 72 or 76, others will have other input for you too. Or you can look at getting a chartplotter, they are awesome.
Beaver Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I just bought a Garmin Etrex Legend for $215 off ebay. It works really well, i'm very happy with it...
Frantic Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Ive got the garmin 72,a great Gps .holds plenty of waypoints and trails and its so easy to use. I won't be buying another for a long time ill be upgrading my sounder instead. And apparently army personnel use them so thats good enough for me. I think it will set you back about $270.
