Hi everyone

It seems my usual spot at the boat ramp in Illawong has dried up. Anyone got any other spots on the Georges they would be willing to share?

Would like to have a go at some big Flathead.

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simonator are you talking landbased for flathead or will you be fishing out of a boat?

Gday Simon.

You could try the National park area at the bottom of River Road and Henry Laswon Drive at Revesby. There are plenty of beachs along this stretch of the river to fish from, the only draw back is that you have to pay to enter the park.

Also if you head to Carinya Road at Picnic Point you can park the car for free and fish either directly out if front of where you park or walk into Fitspatrick park and fish off the bank there.

Another good spot to fish is Lambeth Park , which gets quite a few mentions here for the black fish that are being caught there, but you can also get good bream and flatties from off the sand.

Basically any of the parks that are along Henry Lawson Drive are worth a try. I grew up at Panania and have spent a lot of time fishing along the Georges River over the years.

I last fishsed the river about 3 weeks ago and it is very quite at the moment. The water temp was around 12.5 * . the fish were there but not hungry. The river should start firing again in the next few weeks once it starts to warm up agian.

Hope that this gives yu a few more options

Cheers

Bob

mate...

The river is extremely quiet at the moment. Give it about a month and it should start heating up everywhere.

If you are looking for landbased fishing, kelso park at revesby is pretty good. Also at lurgarno opposite the riverside restaurant is a good place to try.

How does Kelso Park and Lurgano fish on a lowish tide.

What is the water depth like around this area for Land Based fishing.

Any further advice much appreciated.
