Can't help with all of NSW but for the Snowy and Monaro,"Trout Fishing the Snowy Mountains",Steve Williamson, Australian Fishing Network,1999, is a must have.Incredibly detailed, lots of maps and photos,it's virtually a how to for trout fishing[and cooking].Less than $20 if memory serves.

Cheers,

Dave.

The third link in Richie's post is the book I'm referring to-and that lower one on the same page on the Murrumbidgee is great too.

The Steve Williamson book about the Snowies is an excellent reference book, especially for the little known waters hidden away in the Snowies.

Apart from whats all ready been mentioned the only book I would add is the Stocked Impoundments of NSW. I find it very handy in locating stocked Trout lakes but of course isn't much of a help for Rivers and Streams. There might well be some good books in amongst the myriad of Fly Fishing books too, I haven't looked to closely at them however.

One other place worth checking out is the NSW Fisheries Website and look at whats listed under General and Blue Ribbon Trout Streams. Doesn't cover every little waterway but can be useful.

Good luck

Matt

I agree with the above - Steve Williamsons book on trout fishing is brilliant!! He has been very giving of his long time knowledge in this book - quite extraordinary, all the info he has included! Great for beginners thru to the experts. Always something more you can learn!

Another good one is "A guide to Inland Angling Waters of NSW" by Peter Horrobin ISBN 0 646 25433 2

(Part of the AFN & printed in 1996.) This one covers all rivers alphabetically, with maps, how to get there & what you'll catch.

Cheers

Roberta
