bluefin
After 5 months I finally got my motor back today with a new prop, prop and shift rod oil seals! But now I'm faced with no super fuel for it, do I just go to unleaded? It's a merc around 23 Years old! Thanks Howard!
Guest Jocool
You could use ULP and throw some of that lead replacement additive in! I used it for my car, I don't think it would bea nay different! UNLESS......it affects your 2 stroke oil!!!! Maybe an email to Mercury Marine is in order! Grantm
You can use straight unleaded in the old merc no probs. The lead is essentially only used to cool the valves in a 4 stroke engine. Which is why LPG cars burn valves. Pre mixed unleaded fuel with 2 stroke oil is ample engine cylinder lubrication for an old outboard.
