TheDiko
Well it looks pretty real to me, what an amazing creature It guts me to see such massive and breeding species of the ocean get killed though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manta_ray This website seems to think Manta Rays get bigger than the one above IFS
wildfish
i recon its real! about 25+ years ago, when i was 6/7! iseen 1 atleast that size in kiama harbour! my dad lent my rod to his mates son who left it to fall off the wall into the harbour, this was about 1/2 hour after i seen the manta ray! my dad just picks me up and throws me in after the rod! wasnt that a quick retrival!!! another funny thing same place same time! there was a diving school in the harbour! theres about 10 blokes fishing along the wall and we see below us bubbles rising from the scuba divers so the bloke next to me throws a massive bolder down at them! then bang i get a bite! im on! i pull up a skelleton of a fish! . squizzytaylor
Used to see heaps of the big mantas in PNG many over the 15' mark, The locals called them "solwara balus" which is pidgeon for Saltwater airplane or bird due to the dramatic way they breach. It is a shame to see it killed though, still it was "before" we were all educated in c & r. GT
