Nathan L
well guys, i thing the title of the thread is pretty self explanatory. anyone done this themselves? or is there anyone who has a poly with a lecky and wouldn't mind sharing some info on how it is installed on their boat? is it any different to the way it is done on a tinny? is there anything you need to look out for or are there any special precautions that need to be taken into account when doing this on a poly? pics would be awesome, but any reply would be appreciated just as much
johnno
As the poly has got closed areas it can be a little difficult to run cables or get them around and into the gaps.As a tinny has bigger areas to get in and run cables. Do not over tighten the screws to the poly as it will strip. basically the same as a tinny just a little harder for cabling
peter bisaro
Hi all Get onto the polyboatowners.com website, look at mods forum, plenty of info and friendly people to help you out. Most of the leccy's I have seen on the 455 version have put an access hatch inside the anchor well, then bolt though and nuts on the inside, there is normally one or two that bolt through the gunwhale on the outside as well Regards Pedro Edited October 29, 2007 by johnno

squizzytaylor
Hi Nathan, This is the best pic Ive got the front of the mount has ss bolts nuts and washers and go right through the hull lip and the rear were 12g x 2.5" self tappers. Strength has not been an issue and has been on for 6 months and survived the odd take off with the leccy still deployed with no failure.
