I know them as bulls eyes or butterfish and we used to catch a lot of them when catching live baits at night from the torpedo tubes at Jervis Bay.

stewy i would if i measured it but it was more than 24cm thats 20lb mono line under it and it took a raider im not sure what size but i was going for salmon or tailor.. musta been hungry :1yikes:

Ok we will call it 24 cms and I am happy with that,submit away in lure caught records.

They eat these little guys in Thailand, they drop the whole fish into boiling hot oil and it explodes, when you drain it out you're left with nice crispy chunks of fried fish....mmmmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it...

I didn't know we had them in Australia.
